A romantic bijou holiday flat just metres from the beach with stunning views over Swanage Bay and the Isle of Wight. On the second floor of a tall Edwardian town-centre building, the flat has been completely renovated and tastefully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Just a stone's throw from the award winning beach, cafes, boutique shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants, the central location is ideal for enjoying everything that Swanage has to offer.
The space
A refurbished second-floor apartment with modern décor and plenty of art. High ceilings and large windows fill the spacious rooms with natural light. It is in a perfect location, central to everything. Swanage has so much to offer at any time of the year, and there is a wealth of things to see and do within easy walking distance of the flat.
The open plan living room and dining area is spacious with a deep three-seater sofa, coffee tables, a TV and free fast wifi. The dining table is situated in a large bay window, so you can enjoy the lovely sea view as you dine. There are four dining chairs with more available on request. The whole flat is an unusual wedge shape making most of the rooms intriguingly asymmetrical.
A modern fitted kitchen includes an oven, hob, fridge, separate freezer, extractor fan, microwave, toaster, kettle and is fully equipped for cooking and dining with a supply of basics such as oil, condiments, herbs and spices and plenty of utensils. Tea towels, oven gloves, dish cloths, kitchen roll, liquid hand soap and washing up liquid etc are all provided.
The spacious bedroom has a king size bed and a very comfortable pocket sprung mattress with memory foam top and feather duvet. There is a small chest of drawers and a large walk-in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, shelves for clothes and storage for bags etc. An iron and ironing board is also provided.
A travel cot, high chair and backpack are available on request. (Guests need to bring their own bedding for the travel cot only) all other bedding and towels are provided.
The bathroom has a large and deep P-shaped bath with a powerful shower equipped with both a waterfall fitting and a handset. There is a tall, heated towel rail, three bathroom cupboards and underfloor heating. A hair dryer is provided.
Cosy and warm for our winter guests; the bedroom windows are double glazed; the apartment is centrally heated with radiators in every room. There is a folding single bed suitable for small people, and with the removal of 2 cushions, the living room sofa converts easily into a very comfortable single bed suitable for anyone.
We use the apartment ourselves as a couple throughout the year and it is set up so that the only things we need to bring with us are our personal items; clothes and toiletries. You are welcome to use everything we keep in the apartment, we want you to feel as 'at home' as we do :)
Swanage is the gateway to the glorious Jurassic Coast, England's only natural World Heritage Site. There is so much to see and do all year round on the doorstep that we find most people want to return again and again.
Guest access
Guests have sole access to the entire apartment.
Guest access
The whole of the flat is available for guests' use.
Other things to note
The parking situation:
Unfortunately there is no parking directly next to the flat although there are numerous paying car parks nearby. However, we park our car for free in nearby residential roads and always find an unrestricted space within five minutes walk, but usually within a minute or two's walk. I have lived near to the flat for over 20 years and never had to pay for parking as I'm happy to walk for a few minutes. There is a large loading bay directly below the flat to unpack when you arrive and load when you leave.
To find free parking on nearby streets:
Continue along Institute Road from the loading bay outside the flat and at the next junction hang right and then an immediate left turning between the White Swan pub and the Curiosity shop -taking you into Stafford Road heading directly up a steep hill. If there are no places on this road, take the next left into Manor Road and then left again steeply down Exeter Road where there are usually places. Once you are parked, you are rewarded with great views and a central location (opposite the Mowlem Theatre); everything is in walking distance and on your doorstep, including the sea!
