Nice location, but our room had a fire escape light above the door that was very bright that it disturbed our sleep. The showwr also dropped loudly in the night which woke us both. We were not asked on check out how our stay was. Stay was okay but would not return. .
Really lovely stay. Rooms was characterful and spacious but yet still cosy and really well thought out with plug sockets everywhere you would want them. Staff and service was brilliant, very kind and attentive. Breakfast was delicious too. Would definitely stay here again.
A fantastic little pub with very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom and of course a very good pint at very reasonable prices. Excellent breakfast set us up for the day. A big thank you to all the smiling staff.
Apart from cleanliness, comfort, location and all of the others terms describing a hotel room, for me there is one essential factor, namely friendly welcoming staff. This is a quaint country pub/hotel/restaurant with all that and more. A personalised breakfast offering that beckons you to come back for your evening meal.. a delightful experience. The Bulls head is a place to relax and enjoy the ambience of a wonderful country pub. A special mention to Dave and Sharon who work tirelessly to make your stay great. The attentive friendly bar staff make ordering your meal or a drink a pleasure. Would I stay here again? Yes, I have done, several times.
Great Location, brilliant service (the owner had taken time out to ask if everything was OK, a great touch) and room was clean and comfortable. Great choice on the food menu as well.
My
Husband and I staged here this weekend. David was a fantastic host. The food was plentiful, amazing and a very good price. Breakfast was also amazing.
For me a found the pillows great for watching TV for the support, but a bit too hard for sleeping, but the bed was comfy and the sheets were soft. I am always very cold but I was very warm at the bulls head. The shower was huge and powerful.
Our room had a large free fire exit sign above our door. This illuminated green and at night it made our room quite bright, with no way to make the room dark. For me I found this difficult to sleep as I like a really dark room. This is just for info for others, not a criticism by any means.
We live quite close so will definitely be returning for the fantastic food.
Great place to stay overnight. Lovely room only hampered by a very stiff door mechanism and a broken bath plug. Room great quality, lots of drink options including extra bottled water, and a very comfy bed and large TV. Breakfast excellent and the staff couldn't have been nicer, both on arrival and in the morning. Plan to use for future visits to the area.
This booking was delightful, I could park safely and the welcome was warm and friendly. The room was fine for a short stay being warm and comfy. The evening meal was very good, the service attentive and caring for a lone female traveller.
The bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was definitely FULL. All in all the Bulls Head was a good find!
Very comfortable and staff very friendly. Breakfast is lovely
This is second time we have stayed and will be staying again
Thank you for a lovely couple of days
We stayed for a night and enjoyed it. Lovely place. While the building is really old it is well looked after and the quality of all the finishing touches just make the place nice. Great staff. Had a good breakfast cooked for us in the morning, felt more like a B&B. Great place to stay. The only downside was the bed being a bit firm for our liking and the pillows could use an upgrade. It was a small twin bed but that was fine for us as we are smaller people. All in all though a great place to stay while travelling through
Stayed for one night whilst visiting Calke Abbey and the National memorial arboretum.
Friendly welcome, quiet and comfortable room and nice evening meal.
Good breakfast to set us up for our day. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
Thank you to Dave and the team at the Bulls Head.
