The property is beautiful and so peaceful watching the ocean. We saw some dolphins, some seals, bald eagles and lots of deer. Our third year there and all ready reserved for next year!!!

Our stay could not have been any nicer!!!
The only thing lacking was more time to enjoy the absolutely beautiful view. Everything we needed was supplied, the owners were great, scenery out-of-this-world. Very comfortable, especially loved the enclosed porch for our morning coffee.

Beautiful private beach. Kayaks are complimentary and fun and there is even a fire pit. Grounds are gorgeous and Extremely peaceful in a fabulous location. Best Place we have stayed!
This place looked amazing online and it did not disappoint. The location is second to none. Private beach access. There was not one other person on the beach the entire week. The Kayaks were so much fun. Picked wild blueberries on the property and ate the everyday. Phil and Donna were awesome! They even brought us some muffins from their bed and breakfast a few times throughout the week. The house was perfect for us. Family of 4.
In choosing this property, we placed a high value on being near the water. This cottage is situated to maximize one’s enjoyment from sun up to sun down. The views of the bay and mountains of Acadia truly added to the serenity of our time in Surry. The cottage suited us (four adults and one nearly two granddaughter (my son said, “This place has better wifi than I have at home”). The screened-in porch was enjoyed by the early risers and later for our meals. My husband sat reading often at the table on the outside porch. We also had a lovely time on the water with Phil and Donna as they introduced us to the bay and inlets (scrumptious blueberry crumble as part of our tour).
We enjoyed the lovely ride to Ellsworth where we ate (twice) at Serendib and once at Magarita’s. Wonderful ice cream at both Morton’s Moo and Pugnuts. Lots of fun stores to explore there. Last time we were in Maine, we stayed in Tremont, but we now have a new favorite in the Wave Walker cottage and the beautiful Newbury Neck peninsula. Can’t wait to come back.
My family and I could not have asked anything better than this property for our week off before school started in Brooklyn. Staying in Surry was way less crowded than anything on MDI, and we were still within an hour of everything we wanted to see. Sunrises in the morning over the water were so gorgeous, my 8-year-old and I got up at 6 a.m. to see them! We all got really good at skipping rocks at the private beach just one minute walk down the lawn. The fire pit was perfect for smores and snuggling together, and we loved watching the weather come in over the mountains and the water. The house itself was comfortable and had everything we needed, and it was so great to have some toys upstairs in the loft (my 5-year-old especially loved the baby dolls). We saw lots of deer and turkeys around, and it was a great bonus to have the hidden-gem Perry's lobster place right down the street. The owners stayed out of our way, but were very responsive by text when we needed something (like an easy place to get more firewood). Overall, we loved exploring the area and just felt super happy and at peace. My mother-in-law said in the pictures from this trip, we looked more relaxed than we had in 18 months. :) My kids ask when we are going back! Highly recommend.
The cabin is very nice and the setting could not be more breathtaking! The Maine coastline is beautiful with bald eagles, starfish, and hummingbirds. The cabin was very well stocked and not far from grocery and other stores. Unfortunately the week did not end as it has started. The owners have an odd request they no lotion or teeth whitening products be used before bed as it will stain their bed linens. We were not told of this beforehand but during our stay noted a folded over piece of paper in the living room notifying us of this. Too late…I use moisturizer on my face each night. The pillow cases and sheets turned orange. I can safely say that I myself have expensive sheets in my home and have never had this problem nor has this ever happened in hotels or other vacation homes. We were billed $145 for 2 sets of sheets that were stained from us using lotion. According to the owners these are expensive sheets and this has already happened 3 other times this summer!! Not my problem but I guess the owners feel it is. So much for my week of relaxation🙁
The house was very well equipped. The homeowner was attentive at all times. It is a beautiful waterfront property surrounded by nature and wildlife! It was incredibly relaxing and peaceful!
This was our second year at the cottage. Our family absolutely loved it!! Phil and Donna are wonderful hosts. The location is perfect, beautiful views, very secluded and serene. We will be back again!
We did a boat charter with Phil and Donna. They did a pirate theme for our son complete with sunken treasure, a map with markers for him to find. Needless to say he was beside himself.
The pictures don’t do the property justice. The view of the bay and MDI, especially at sunrise and dusk is just breath-taking! Our family of five plus my mother loved our time at the cottage. The kitchen was very well equipped, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of space to spread out inside and out. Aside from 3 day trips into Acadia, we spent our time looking up at the stars, building a campfire, looking for starfish at low tide, skipping rocks, and picking blueberries for our pancakes. We caught sight of seals, porpoises, and a bald eagle. In hindsight, we should have rented kayaks - it would have been fun to kayak near the seals. While the cottage is a bit of a distance from Acadia, the beauty, peace and quiet of the location was worth the drive. We also enjoyed Pugnuts for really good gelato and Perry’s for lobster. We had been wanting to visit this part of Maine for years and are so glad we chose to stay at Phil and Donna’s cottage. They were very responsive and kind and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
If you love relaxing, watching bald Eagles, dolphins, rabbits, beautiful mountain ranges and oh yes, that beautiful ocean , you will love this place as much as we did. All ready booked for next year!!
Communication with the the property manager/owner was easy. Check in was smooth. The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed the Newbury Neck area, including Perry's Seafood and Take-Out just down the road from us. Delicious! It was close enough to Acadia to be convenient, but not too close.
But the real bonus for this property were the views. We enjoyed sitting on the porch each day reading, eating and just watching the wildlife, lobster fishermen and astounding beauty of the location.
The cottage is very private and has a lovely screened in room facing the ocean so you can get the views and amazing ocean breezes without full sun on you. The house had everything needed for our family of four and was a 20-50 minute drive from all the places we wanted to go. Was truly lovely.
We loved this cottage! It is perfectly situated on a quiet property on the water with fantastic views of Acadia National Park. Easy drive to the park but far enough away that you are not dealing with the crowds. The house had everything we needed. Our son loved the loft! It even had toys, including a whole box of Legos. Phil and Donna were very helpful and responsive. We definitely want to come back.
Very lovely stay. We did not have the best weather but made the best of it with side trips each day. We experienced a beautiful full moon, two exceptional sunrises, walks along the shore, and an outside campfire. The cottage was well appointed and we even organized the Tupperware cabinet on one of our rainy days! Thank you for a great week.
This property was a perfect getaway for our family. The views were amazing, and it was quiet and peaceful. The kids were able to walk right down to the beach and look for starfish, and we loved sitting around the fire at night and counting shooting stars. Close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia- but far enough away to enjoy the quiet beauty of Maine! We would love to come back to this exact home again someday!
We loved our visit to this wonderful spot. It was everything we had hoped for - gorgeous waterfront, wildlife, quiet. Everything is there at the house that you might need. Check in was so easy. Phil was very communicative prior to our visit, and during a brief power outage we experienced (due to an accident down the road). We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and kayaks. Star gazing at night was amazing as there is very little light pollution. If you want to be within a reasonable distance of Acadia, but not surrounded by tourists...this is your place.
We had a wonderful week at the Wave Walker cottage. The location was great for day trips to Acadia including the Schoodic peninsula and the Blue Hill Peninsula. The home was as described and very comfortable for our family of 4 and our 11 year old loved the loft bedroom. The views of Acadia across the bay were beautiful morning and nite. We loved watching the sunrise and drinking g our coffee from the front porch. Jeff and Donna were very friendly and available to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend
We very much enjoyed our short stay in Surry. The cottage was perfect, had everything we needed, and the view of the mountains was spectacular. We were there in October so leaves were at peak, and we were just in time to order from Perry’s Lobster Shack before they closed for the season. Phil & Donna are great hosts, we hope to visit again.
