Beachfront Bargain
This is a great house as far as price and location go. It is spacious, has super easy access to the beach, and a great back deck. It comes with all the necessary amenities for a great vacation. Our family of six felt comfortable and right at home. Any concerns were negligible and had no affect on our overall vacation experience. We would 100% rent this house again in the future.

The views and access to the beach were amazing however the issues with the cleanliness of the property itself cant be overlooked.

Needs considerable updating
Location is away from crowded west end of island and spectacular views. If you require deluxe accommodations, this not the place for you. Issues with appliances, blinds, furniture, flooring, decks, deck furniture and exterior clutter all detracted from our vacation experience.

Perfect location but could use someTLC
We loved the location and enjoyed staying. Company came and went as they are family and some live there. Didn’t notice some Stains on sheets until later in the week. We pulled off and washed. Some of the rails broken on back deck. Rooms stayed warm. Didn’t really cook but the stove eyes on back didn’t really heat up. But we had a great time and would look at booking again.

While the views were great. The house was very nasty and dirty. As soon as we walk in one of the kids spill milk and when we wipe it up the paper towel and black. The floors were nasty the living room Curtain had nasty brown stained all over them. We were afraid of the couches. There was piles of dirt in the corners. If I could give a 0 for cleanliness I would. The gate on back porch was rusted and didn’t work so we couldn’t take the baby out to play on the porch. The rails on the front porch were loose so he couldn’t go out there either. Every thing was screwed down.. the windows.. even the bed frames except half the screw was sticking out and someone could easily cut their head on it.. and the dressers where water damaged alot of stuff was rusted. sooo. 0 for the house 5 for the views

Beach week
Very nice house . Plenty of room for our group. Missed some wine glasses, only one in the cabinet and not enough silverware for a days useable. 🙈but plenty of towels were available. I did have questions about the door lock. I called your information office and a very nice young lady helped me learn how to lock and open the door with the code. There was no info on your app under the notes or anywhere else. We had a very nice week with beautiful weather.

Week at the beach
We stayed at Charisma because it was near the end of the island that we had never been before and last year the shells were better on this end. The house definitely needs updating. The floor is soft when you go out the back door, obvious ceiling and wall damage, drawers fall at you as you pull them out, etc. We loved the view of the beach and we were 2nd to the last house near the end which was nice. There is a public access right near by so you will have a lot of activity. For the price, we could have definitely stayed in the house that we stayed in last year that was cheaper.

Windows Screwed Shut
All ocean front and street side windows are screwed shut. Do not function. Frige had food in crisper and cookie sheets/pans were also filthy with food scraps in them. It’s like third world stuff here. Some (maintenance?) person has come through the house with a screw gun and 3” wood screws and attempted to fix and secure things to the paneling with these screws; the head board (screw heads sticking out dangerously in the area of your head, etc), shower curtain rod, windows. Look at the pics of the kid’s room, those wall decorations are bath toys, screwed to the wall with, yes, 3” wood screws. HVAC works well but we rent in the fall so we can open the windows, get cool fresh air and listen to the waves. In this house, it is silent inside except for the car doors and trunks slamming from the public parking/beach access . Lesson learned.

Great Location
It is the perfect location to entertain small children in the tidal pools at low tide. Well stocked kitchen which made cooking meals much easier. This was the first time my family has rented a house at the beach where linens were provided and the beds were ready for sleeping upon arrival. That certainly made our vacation more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful week at the beach. Our family has stayed at this house many times over the years and always enjoyed the location. It did not disappoint this time either. We had the pleasure of seeing a deer wandering between the house and dunes. Even though we were on the porch and talking it did not spook the deer.

We love Charisma
We love the east end and Charisma is the perfect home to stay in. We have stayed 4 times now and have it booked for the fall and intend to book for summer 2025 as well. Its always so clean and has everything we need. Its so comfy and cozy!

The view of the beach was excellent. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Mermaids restaurant was spot on with their cooking. The house was small compared to others in the area but it was just exactly what we needed. The stairs weren't terrible to climb. We loved our stay.

Heed reviews! When deciding to rent this home I had reservations due to some questionable reviews. Mind you, prime season cost for this home is right at 4k. On arrival, the refrigerator was warm, rusted inside and out. However, the Vacasa representative I spoke with was promote to resolve the issues and was extremely helpful. The mold and mildew in the home was horrible (the smell is awful. We burnt candles all week to mask the odor) You can see someone tired to paint over the mold ( check out the floor boards and windows) Im assuming a pretty substantial roof leak judging by the crumbling popcorn cielings and water marked areas (dont slam the doors, the cielings may fall). The dryer wouldn't dry clothes (would get warm, but not dry) didn't turn this in to Vacasa because I was past the point of frustration with this place. Oh, make sure you pack a rain suit! The AC creates sooo much moisture you feel like you're sleeping in a wet tent (not to mention what you may be breathing in while you sleep) I left the AC fan "ON", as suggested by previous renter reviews. Soft spots in the floor! Never fixed, and was noted on prior reviews! The furniture was damaged and mildewed, and cieling fans were dirty. Ohhh, and the water pressure... this home is two bathroom. We shared this rental with another family. Only one shower can be used at a time. The water pressure disappears to a dribble (LITERALLY) when any other water is running in the house ( hose, washer, sink, ANY WATER). Overall, this place is a dump. The owners should be ashamed asking the price they do for this home. None of these issues are fixable while people are staying there. Major renovation is needed and upgrades. On a positive note, Vacasa does provide towels and toiletries for the home and the beds were made when we arrived, which was nice. The view is amazing and the front porch is very comfortable ( several rockers and plenty of seating). I will not rent this home again. My stay was not comfortable due to the condition of this home.

Perfect location
Some of the concerns voiced in earlier reviews seem to have been addressed. The mattresses seemed to be new, the floors have all been replaced, the interior repainted. It is a classic "in the old style" beach house which is what we wanted. Have already booked it for next year.
