You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Quintessential Maine, the way life should be! Of course, your dog is welcome!
August is pretty booked but we still have openings in July!
Aspen Cabin has been a rental for many years where families come back to enjoy their Maine summer and make great memories. Our summer months tend to be booked a year in advance.
Come enjoy this beautiful log cabin, sandy beach- Little Tunk Pond retreat! Aspen Cabin is surrounded by Schoodic and Black Mountains on a very private setting that allows you to think that you have this pond all to yourself! 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms will give your family plenty of space to relax inside or outside on the screened in porch after a day of hiking or visiting Acadia National Park. Outside you will find that we have a grill, great wooden swing, a fenced in area to let your dogs go for a run, 3 kayaks and a canoe. A great solo stove to sit around and have smores. If fishing is more your style we have plenty of that, with salmon and trout in Little Tunk. Maybe you would like to go for a swim, this pond is great for that and Big Tunk is just a short walk away! We have a generator all hooked up to immediately switch over if power is ever lost. Aspen Cabin is here to offer you the peace of getting away in the woods while still maintaining all of the comforts of home! We are 45-60 minutes away from Bar Harbor and 20 minutes away from the Schoodic Peninsula.

Great place! Very peaceful and quiet! beds are very firm.
We had such a great time enjoying the property. The sunsets were amazing! We felt like we had the lake to ourselves. The authenticity of the log home and decor felt like a real Maine vacation. So many supplies were provided and especially the water toys. I felt like our adult children would get bored by the end of the week, but they did t want to leave!
We loved our stay at this property! Super relaxing and had everything we needed. Kayaking and spending time on the lake was the best part. It made being an hour from Acadia and Bar Harbor more than worth it. Shasta was a great host and extremely accommodating. I will definitely be back!
Our family had the best time at the cabin. The kids swam and fished in the lake while the adults enjoyed watching them and the scenery from the shore. The cabin felt private yet we were close enough to Bar Harbor.
The cabin was great, the pond was beautiful, the place was clean, everything was as advertised. We would definitely come back in the future, maybe for a longer stay next time.
We had a great time at the cabin, the location with the pond was amazing. The house is exactly had advertised and has everything you need for your stay.
Our stay at the Aspen cabin was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed the lake every day and the activities, such as fishing, swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We highly recommend this cabin to all families who want to relax on the lake.
Our stay at the Aspen cabin couldn’t have been better! The cabin offered the perfect getaway in the midst of all the best of Maine. Clean, well-stocked, and with a wonderful host, the Aspen cabin provided us with the ideal spot for our Acadia adventure.
It's a wonderful location! Little tunk held a daily adventure with eagles, loons, and more! The house was great, very clean, and the area is lovely. We spent a whole week and it was filled with great memories.
Perfect location, quaint log cabin, and excellent communication and assistance from property manager. The views are breathtaking, the beach area is perfect for kids and adults, the water is crystal clear, and the cabin is nice. The available kayaks and canoe are perfect for exploring the gorgeous lake. Overall perfect vacation spot.
I can not say enough about the cabin. Shasta was so easy to work with and provided all the details we needed. The cabin was perfect for our family of 4 and our 2 dogs. The property felt completely private. We enjoyed the peace and privacy but also walks along the property and also were close enough to Bar Harbor, Castine, and Schoodic. The kayaks and paddle boats were so much fun and the lake was crystal clear. The fireplace was amazing for little fires to start the day with out coffee. :). The location was great, groceries and activities are easily accessible. We did not want to leave and hope to return soon and stay longer. Thanks again Shasta for everything.
Aspen Cabin is a gem sitting on the most serene, crystal clear lake. Warm water for swimming, hours spent fishing, gorgeous sunsets, and the most terrific hiking, biking, and lobster rolls within near proximity. We loved the Schoodic area—the beauty of Acadia without the crowds!
Stunning location, cabin was so awesome, comforts of home but feeling of being remote. Location is lakeside but still within 45 mins of shops. I can't way enough about this place. We will be returning next year!
Tunk Lake is a pristine, rustic slice of heaven. Cabin was exactly as described; towels were thick, cozy for post swim & showers. Kitchen is well equipped. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
This is a beautiful property. The house is kept in immaculate condition, the amenities are well stocked, and the property manager is beyond exceptional. The neighborhood is in a very quiet area, so if you are looking for solitude, this is the place.
100% as advertised!!! This cabin, property, and lakefront setting was absolutely gorgeous! I recommend this place to anyone who needs a quiet, peaceful, retreat from the stresses of daily life.
Shasta, the property manager, was always available for questions or recommendations.
Aspen Cabin exceeded our expectations!
The cabin was exactly as advertised. Plenty of room for our family of 5 to stretch out. The kids nicknamed it frog lake due to all of the frogs that would hang out under the kayaks. There are a few other cabins within a close proximity, but we rarely saw or heard anybody. It felt like we had the lake all to ourselves. We need to come back when the sky is clear so we can sit out at night and look at the stars.
We had the best time! The cabin was everything the website said it would be. Very clean, in good condition and had beautiful decorations ! Plenty of room for a big family. The location was excellent, in a private area away from the town but perfect for peaceful relaxation. The pond was beautiful with calm ,clear, pristine water. Having the kayaks there ready to go was such a treat, especially early in the morning and at sunset! The only downside was having to drive about 30 min to find a restaurant to eat, but you can also get your own groceries and prepare your food since there's everything you need at the cabin. It was the best choice we've made for a vacation spot and will be definetely be coming back next year!
The cabin is very well kept. The screened in porch is very nice for sitting outside and looking at the lake. The fenced in pet area is also very nice. My 2 dog’s had a blast out there running and playing. The lake is also good for fishing. It is very peaceful At night it is very dark. The WiFi is very fast. It’s nice that it has WiFi because cell phones don’t have any service there. There is a landline in the house for calls. The cabin is very pet friendly. They even have a glass jar of dog bones in the cabin. Plus a few dog bowls out on the porch. I highly recommend this cabin. I’m looking forward to going back next year!!!
We rented this cabin for 4 nights and it was absolutely perfect. The pond that it's on is calm and clear. We had friends and their 2 boys stay with us for 2 nights and the kids loved swimming in the pond and taking the kayaks out. We even tried our hand at fishing!
My husband and I were there by ourselves for the rest of the time and it was a perfect quiet vacation. We had a fire each night and spent mornings with coffee on the screened porch. The bed was comfy and I slept well with the windows wide open and a nice breeze. The cabin is well stocked and we were able to cook and grill and have room for everyone around the table. Everything we needed was there!
The cabin is about 20 mins to Schoodic and 45 or so from Bar Harbor, so an easy trip to either for the day.
My partner and I had a great week at this picturesque property on Little Tunk Pond. We spent early mornings and late evenings paddling on the pond, and we were an easy commute to many day trip activities. The kitchen was fully equipped for making breakfast and dinner each day. We are not TV people, but we do enjoy music. We were pleased to find the house had a Bluetooth sound bar which we were easily able to connect to our phones and play music from our playlists. The gnats were out in full force. I’m a Maine resident, so we came prepared with head nets to wear while on the pond. The screened porch is a must in Maine, and we loved watching the sun rise and set each morning from the porch. This was the perfect 1st vacation to take since the start of the pandemic! I hope to return at some point to rejuvenate again. Thank you!
Beautiful, relaxing lakefront, Memorial Weekend getaway !!
Aspen Cabin was perfect; everything was just as it was advertised! Very clean and well stocked with everything you need. The views were beautiful very serene and relaxing! Little Tunk pond was great and very clean. My dogs loved swimming in it, my husband loved fishing, canoeing and I just enjoyed sitting at the lake and relaxing. We enjoyed taking small little walks around the neighborhood.
Shasta was an amazing host. She was easy to commutate with, very helpful and checked in on us to see how it was going. The Wifi wasn't working when we got there, but Shasta did let us know before hand, but between Shasta and the owner Chris they were very accommodating and very responsive of fixing the Wifi the following day, which my husband and I were very appreciative, that Chris came to replace it with a new Wifi.
I would defiantly recommend Apsen Cabin as a great vacation rental. We would defiantly rent it again but maybe next time we would bring our kids, or I should say young adults. I know they would love it!!
The only thing I would recommend is maybe bring a broom especially if you have dogs. Apsen Cabin does have a very nice vacuum which I used every day, but I like to use a broom, especially when there is staircases, it's just easier for me. This is Defiantly Not a complaint by all means it's just a preference for me. I have been know to bring my own broom sometimes lol.
Five stars all the way!!!
This property did not disappoint! Our priority was privacy and waterfront access. Having 3 kayaks and a canoe at our disposal was very convenient, and we enjoyed fishing on the pond every day. Aspen Cabin is very secluded and Little Tunk Pond is beautiful, with pristine water. It was perfect for us to let our dog swim and run on the property. And the fenced dog yard was a perk for her late night trips outside to pee, without having to worry about running in to wildlife. We loved the fire pit, screened in porch, and upstairs balcony. Shasta was very communicative and quick to respond with any questions. She even let us know the property was available a little earlier in the day for us to check in, which we appreciated since not all rentals will do that. Starter items such as coffee, filters, and water were a nice touch. We don’t usually buy bottled water and the well water is supposed to be potable, but it does have an odor and taste that some may not like, so we really appreciated having some bottled water left for us in the fridge, which we replenished before leaving. Shasta left detailed local information, including how to get to some local hiking trails. The views atop Schoodic Mountain and Black Mountain were unparalleled! We enjoyed our hikes and not having to fight the crowds at Acadia on MDI in order to experience nature’s beauty. It’s about 30 minutes to Ellsworth for groceries, dinner, etc. with some road side dinner and ice cream options a little closer. Winter Harbor is also an option in the other direction.
