"It was in the mountains and perfect for an in resort stay. Not much in the area to do but there was a lot to do in the resort. Perfect for couples looking for alone time. Also for families needing activities for toddlers and preteens."

"Our stay far exceeded expectations wrt service (butlers, restaurant and spa staff), food quality, restaurant and overall ambiance. We loved our 5 night stay in a Butler Valley Pool Villa, which was very relaxing. The afternoon rain storms were fantastic! We had several treatments at the spa and three private yoga classes, which were all excellent. The spa location and setting are sublime and fantastic! Raditya “Mr Sun” gave excellent private yoga classes down by the river. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the therapists’ names but they were great too. While we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return, this property (or parts of it) isn’t for everyone. It’s located on a steep hillside in a jungle, which is great for ambiance and views, but it might not be the place for anyone that isn’t comfortable with steep slopes and narrow, steep uneven stairs. There are golf carts for access to the upper levels of the resort only. The spa and lower area is currently only available by steps, but a new funicular/elevator is expected to be operational soon.) It may not be suitable for people with limited mobility or small children. Butler suites are worth the splurge. The butler team uses WhatsApp messenger to keep track of guest requests across shifts. Very organized. They’ll arrange room service and anything that you may need. We were in excellent hands with Yupik, Angga, Wawan, Jaka and Dedy covering the shifts. The restaurant and housekeeping teams were all also very attentive. Thx"

"I’ll absolutely be back at Mason elephant lodge. It was the kindest service we’ve ever had. The food is amazing, the spa is amazing, and the elephants are so so happy! If you’re worried, google elephant body language. They are reproducing as well, which is a huge sign they are healthy and happy. Their keepers have been with their elephant for decades. It’s an amazing place. I can’t wait to come back. Special shout out to Oka! He is a doll. "

"We stayed here while we are at UBUD. They are very friendly and well-maintained hotel. I loved the staffs who was very kind and nice! They also have pretty garden and swimming pool. But we didn’t have a chance to get in there. Tell you the truth, you have no time to stay at the hotel because the city is too much things to do. There was a small sewer issues but they came and fix right away. Only one concern was the air conditioning system. Likely other south Asian countries, they don’t clean the filter that often so it could smell fungus a little bit. But it was much better than other hotels. Breakfast area was authentic and nice!! They are not the buffet style but the quality of the food was healthy and yum!!! We loved it! I think I wanna stay here again when I visit Bali next time! "
