Heavenly 16th century cottage in pretty rural village with great amenities - Swan's Nest

An enchanting 16th Century timber framed cottage in the heart of one of Suffolk’s best villages that proudly boasts the country’s oldest shop and garage, two pubs, a café, Post Office, wine shop and a family butcher. The cottage has been lovingly renovated to enhance and merge the original features with classic luxurious comfort and rural style. The terraced garden and raised look-out sitting room have picture perfect West facing views over beautifully manicured gardens, impressive church tower, Box River and woodland beyond. Swan’s Nest is the embodiment of traditional Suffolk village bliss.
Ground Floor
Entrance Hall – The door from the street connects to a covered corridor leading straight to the sheltered bicycle store and garden, and also to a further door into the dining area.
Dining Area & Kitchen – Farmhouse style table with bespoke bench seating and chairs for four nestled by a cosy log burner, linked open plan to the galley style kitchen with original critall door straight through to the garden. The kitchen is equipped with a butler’s sink, electric cooker & hob, dishwasher, crockery dresser and larder with a microwave and washer/dryer.
Downstairs Washroom – With lavatory, handbasin and tucked away storage.
First Floor
Look-Out Sitting Room – Large three-seater sofa and armchair orientated around a West facing wall of glass providing wonderful views over the back of ancient houses, immaculate gardens, the church and rolling country-side. A 40” smart TV is enveloped by built-in shelving also containing ornaments, books and board games.
The Cygnets Bedroom – Generous bedroom with twin three foot beds (can also form a super king sized double) decorative fireplace, chest of drawers and built-in cupboard with hanging space.
En-Suite Shower Room – Next to the Cygnets Bedroom with a hand basin, lavatory and large walk-in power shower.
Second Floor
The Cob & Pen Bedroom – King-sized bed, large wooden chest of drawers, bedside tables, upholstered chair and foot stool and more of the stunning West facing views.
En-Suite Bathroom – Directly off the Cob & Pen Bedroom has a bath, wooden framed hand basin and lavatory.
Outside
Accessible directly from the street via the enclosed corridor (ideal for bicycle access, dirty dog or muddy boots) or through the kitchen door is a well-proportioned terrace garden featuring a large rustic wooden table with parasol and six arm-chair style seats. Cleverly highted walls and fencing provide a reassuring sense of privacy while maintaining a direct connection to the surrounding gardens and countryside. There is a large Outback kettle style BBQ and pretty wicker planters with colourful flowers.
