I must begin by saying this was nothing short of an OUTSTANDING experience. After numerous VRBO rentals, this was hands down the best one of all—no exaggeration. Mr. DiTomaso was such a thoroughly accommodating host, that we’ve been permanently spoiled! So much so, that we’ll be arranging future vacation-time, based on the availability of his cabin—appropriately named Destiny.
The entire property was impeccably clean and organized. We had zero questions that hadn’t already been conveniently addressed. Despite its close proximity to Deadwood, we felt entirely isolated. The few times we left were done so reluctantly, for we had no desire to leave our new-found haven. And the DECOR! One cannot do justice to all of the intricately placed furnishings and trimmings—including not only luxurious comforts, but idyllic trinkets of local lore. The photos alone couldn’t possibly capture such a lovely, inviting atmosphere. We spent the first hour reveling in each room, the cultural trimmings, nuances, and multiple options for ambient lighting. My sole complaint is that it’s SO wonderful, it practically made our dog disown us for making her leave!
In short, there is too much to praise about this property and its surroundings, for a reasonably worded review. So I will simply say this… The DiTomaso’s found a literal gem of the Black Hills and turned it into a vacation masterpiece of true respite, solitude, and escape from the daily stressors of modern life. Bravo! And sincerest thanks!
