-----About Door County-----

Door County Peninsula and Washington Island has over 300 miles of scenic shoreline dotted with bustling harbors and quiet coves, Door County offers a wealth of water-based recreation. Sandy beaches, sailing, cruising, boating, fishing, boat rentals, charters or a unique car ferry ride to Washington Island are just a few ways to enjoy the sparkling waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan.

Visit one or all of Door County's wineries during your visit to the Door Peninsula. The wineries offer a variety of award-winning locally produced wines along with tours and/or wine tasting facilities. Want to purchase a bottle or more of wine from Door County's local wineries? No problem - each of Door County's wineries offers on-site sales in addition to tasting opportunities. Enjoy!

With the bay of Green Bay on one side and Lake Michigan on the other, Door County's 300 miles of shoreline enclose not only the Midwest's choice vacation destination, but also the ideal golf vacation spots. Door County Wisconsin offers golf courses that will challenge you, whatever your skill level. And all surrounded by Door County's natural beauty and a carefree atmosphere that allows you to really relax after the spikes are cleaned and the score cards tallied.

Eleven golf courses call the Door County Peninsula home, and have from 9 to 36 holes each. Golf courses are located from south of Sturgeon Bay to Washington Island, and most places in between. All courses offer a range of greens fees to accommodate both the weekend golfer and the 3-handicapper, and some courses also offer lessons for those who would like to learn the game.

Biking/Cycling in Door County

Door County's 100 miles of backroad biking have everything from trails through our state parks to country roads through fields and orchards. Biking is a great way to discover the Door. Free maps are available through the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center. Mountain bikers particularly enjoy the 15-mile Ahnnapee Trail that connects Algoma with Sturgeon Bay. Families and couples enjoy biking on the wooded off-road trails at Peninsula State Park (eight miles), Newport State Park (13 miles), Potawatomi State Park (four miles). Two popular bike rides in the county are the Ridges Sanctuary Ride in June and the Door County Century Ride in September. Bring your bikes!

Cherry orchards
Door County has a history of cherry growing that dates back to the 1800s. Soil and weather conditions - warm days and cool nights - influenced by Lake Michigan and Green Bay have created an ideal situation for growing these delicious fruits. Today with around 2,000 acres of cherry orchards and another 500 acres of apple orchards, Door County is filled with blossoms in the spring and is richly decorated with the delicious fruits in the late summer and fall.

Montmorency cherries are usually picked from mid July to early/mid August. Early varieties of apple orchards, such as Paulareds, are harvested as early as late August. Golden Delicious are harvested through mid October.

Cherry and apple stands can be found along many of Door County's country roads in season. Picking your own apples and cherries can be a fun and tasty part of your visit to Door County.

The property owner has brought in some great family games that really encourage creating those great family memories through group activities like ping pong, bean bags or just go back in time and see who can get the highest score on the vintage (free) pinball machine downstairs. Other things to do together are pulling out one of the many board games, sitting around the campfire and/or playing chef in the giant kitchen with those you love standing by your side helping.

Door County Away.
Fantastic location, Great pool and surround, great kitchen to prepare meals and good dining area. All of the Bedrooms are without closets to hang clothes. (not so good). Could use hooks in the bedrooms and bathrooms.Great arcade games room for everyone to enjoy different games. Great laundry room. The driveway could use a lot of improvement, especially at the area across the waste/recycle bins is real low and there is a big muddy puddle.

Family Vacation
Our family had a great extended weekend in Door County and this propert was the ideal place to stay for our large group. We had kids ranging from 1 year old to 16 year old. The kids loved the game room and heated pool. The house slept 18 people comfortably and all in beds. The house, including kitchen and bathroom were clean. We were surpised how well stocked the house is with kitchen gadgets, games, extra coolers, etc..

Amazing home for a trip to Door County!
My family and I, (8 adults with 5 kinds between the ages of 2 and 6) could not have found a better home. The bedrooms are large with comfy beds and the big game room downstairs gave the kid a and place to play separate from the other living spaces. And,fFor big groups with lots of food, the 2 refrigerators in the kitchen are a god send! The pool is awesome and the waterslide is way cooler than it looks (the adults used it more than the kids.) The hosts were great! Readily available for questions or issues (with VRBO, not them), easy to communicate with, and very friendly. It is a bit far from the towns along the bay but it’s by far the closest large home with a pool based on our search. My family is already talking about another trip out there next year and this is definitely where we’ll be staying.

Family vacation
Pool and arcade were a huge hit with the kids. Kitchen has all you need, house is clean and beds were comfortable. Manager always answered our questions and even came out when the propane tanks were empty and had them refilled. Giving an overall a 4 rating as for the price there are some details that could be improved. Fire pit is almost not useable as the area around it needs mowing etc. some of the features of the house, for the price we paid, were of lower quality.

Family Gathering
One of the reasons we selected this property was to be able to sleep up to 18. We never slept more that 12 any night. The location is quiet with beautiful surroundings, nice open rooms furnished for comfort, indoor and outdoor games provided, well designed kitchen with island and 2 refrigerators, and a lovely pool with a water slide. All agreed it was perfect for this vacation. The owned oriented us to the pool and monitored the pool water quality remotely. We all slept well.

Nice house: uncooperative weather
We enjoyed the spacious house, luckily, because wind and rain created havoc with our plans. We’ve been spoiled by other rental companies in previous years. Here we weren’t warned to bring our own propane for the grill and patio heater… or to bring our own toilet paper … so we had to go shopping in a hurry. Kellie was always available to answer questions and that was greatly appreciated.
