Birdsong Cabin, as the name suggests, is set in a tranquil and peaceful setting so you can truly enjoy the dawn chorus and the birdsong from the comfort of this lovely holiday cabin. The property is a comfortable and cosy holiday home, set adjacent to the owners’ home ’Chrisona’, with outstanding mountain and sea views. It is located just a few minutes’ walk from the shore, where you will see a wide range of seabirds, waders, otters, curious seals and also a lovely stretch of white sands at Ashaig Beach. It is a great base for touring all the area, which has so much to offer for the outdoor enthusiast, with fabulous low and high level walking and hiking in the area, as well as plenty Munros to bag. Visit Sleat, Portree, Glenelg, Plockton and Applecross, which are all close by. Visit historic sites, including Clan Donald Centre and Gardens, Kylerhea Otter Hide, the Serpentarium and Reptile Centre, coral beaches and Talisker Distillery. Also Glenelg Brochs, Eilean Donan Castle, boat trips, pony trekking and so much more are available. The sunrise and sunsets, seascape, landscape and dark skies will amaze you so come explore and enjoy.

Menge statt Klasse, nicht teuer und nicht preiswert
Ansprechend und vollständig eingerichtet (TV, Waschmaschine, Herd, Backofen, Mikrowelle, Wasserkocher, Toaster, Kontaktgrill). Damit ist dann sämtliche Arbeitsfläche verbraucht. Mangels Spülmaschine sind dann sowohl Abwasch als auch Kochen eher umständlich. Im Gegensatz zur Menge der Geräte ist die Qualität im unteren Bereich: Billige Töpfe mit runden Böden, stumpfe Messer, Backofen heizt nicht richtig, bei allen beweglichen Teilen lockere Schrauben. Im Schlafzimmer gibt es nur ein Regal, Licht reicht nicht zum Lesen, Holzhaus bei Wind zugig, Badtür öffnet dann selbständig (passt nicht zu Sustainability-Zertifikaten an der Wand). Einrichtung mit zusammengeklappt Tisch sieht nett aus, ist völlig unpraktisch. Essplatz zu eng, Sessel vor Heizung, aber TV hat viel Platz. WLAN war über kompletten Aufenthalt nicht verfügbar.

The birdsong cabin is as peaceful as it’s name suggests.
The birdsong cabin is as peaceful as it’s name suggests. Set in the garden of the owners property, however privacy was not an issue. The views are amazing with a clear view of the coast and cuilins on a clear day. Flora and Donald met us and showed us around the cabin. I instantly noted how clean it was (which was a relief, given the current situation with Covid). The little homely touches made all the difference and the homemade scones and jam were a welcome addition. The cabin is located in Lower Breakish (Broadford). There are plenty of lovely walks around. I can’t fault this cabin, everything about it was warm and welcoming, reasonably priced and we will definitely be back. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The bread, milk, margarine and eggs supplied were a nice touch and Flora's homemade scones and jam a tasty treat. Birdsong Cabin is a delightful, tranquil, cosy place, close to the shoreline with abundant wildlife
Birdsong Cabin is a delightful, tranquil, cosy place, close to the shoreline with abundant wildlife and lives up to its name. Deer ventured into the garden on a couple of evenings as we watched the sunset from the veranda. We were warmly greeted by the owners and lovely supplies of homemade scones, jam and butter as well as the most gorgeous eggs from the free roaming hens. The Cabin is well equipped with a very comfortable bed ensuring a good nights sleep. It is ideally situated to explore the island especially the southern peninsulas. We hope to return.

Perfect location.
Perfect location. Cabin was beautiful, comfy, clean and had everything you could possibly need. Really helpful owners and stunning views from the cabin - particularly the sunsets. Really close to Broadford where you had shops, garage etc but it's also a fab little town. The cabin is fabulously located for getting to all the different bits of Skye and is in such a lovely quiet location. Absolutely loved it!
