What a fabulous find! Lisa provides a parking pass - essential in this area if you have a car - and has finished the cottage to a very high standard. The two bedrooms and family bath have skylights and this is the only building on the street with a bow window in the lounge/living room, so the entire place is full of light. BTW, the family bath is huge and the claw foot tub was a dream.
Beds have been very carefully selected (so no bad back issues), the kitchen contains up-to-date appliances (including a huge refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, and a clothes washer) and is a joy to cook in. I would particularly mention that, unlike many places, this kitchen is fully supplied - a wide variety of pots and pans, serving and cooking utensils, etc. It actually looks as if someone lives here. A very pleasant surprise when compared with some places that have 2 spoons and 3 pans. The only warning is to be careful of the towel warmer in the en suite bathroom - it's a wee bit close to the loo! :-)
Wifi was reliable and fast - we rely on it for business, so this was much appreciated. If the weather isn't good, there are books, DVDs, and puzzles (AND a scrabble game and dictionary!).
It is actually just behind Shakespeare's birthplace, so a one block walk to the pedestrian area (and all the touristy shops) and a short walk to the theatre. Tons of good food in the area - including a very nice pub just up the street. We can recommend Ideal Taxi as well - we were a bit footsore after a long day and they picked us up on time, took us to the theatre, and met us after to take us home - and didn't complain a bit about the short distance/little fare.
We do flats/apartments on most of our vacations and this was absolutely one of the best. We can recommend it unreservedly and plan to return.
