Riverside Retreat with River Access and Stunning views!

If peace, solitude and splendid relaxation is what you yearn for, this is the place! Riverside Retreat is a gorgeous cabin located in Stonewall, TX an easy 14 mile drive from Fredericksburg. This stunning 2 bedroom 2.5 bath cabin is situated along the Pedernales River and has all the comforts of home; including a full kitchen, 3 TVs (50" in living room, 40" in bedrooms) satellite channels and WiFi. The downstairs master bedroom features a king size bed and en-suite bath with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom upstairs also has a King size bed, and en-suite bath with a tub/shower combo. The upstairs loft offers a comfortable futon that sleeps 2, (please note upstairs loft is only accessible through bedroom). Plenty of room for a group of up to 6! Riverside Retreat's remote location, access to the waterfront, comfortable accommodations along with proximity to conveniences provide a unique experience - a little piece of "Heaven on Earth!"
Please Note: Firewood is not provided, ​​​​​​​Spa is serviced on Tuesdays and Lawn is serviced on Wednesdays

You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will not be visible.

Beautiful Retreat
We had an amazing time in this beautiful house on the river. All the amenities made it so relaxing. We enjoyed the river, wildlife, the screened porch, hot tub, & fire pit. The kitchen was stocked with cookware and dishes and made it great to have our own meals. Everything was very clean except for the dishes. There was food residue on many of the plates and silverware but we were provided with dish soap and sponges so we just washed things before use. We are hoping to visit again. Overall, a wonderful place.

Great property for hanging out and visiting the local breweries and wineries! The grill has some holes in the grate and is a challenge to cook on and the downstairs mattress is in need of replacement BUT these two things were overshadowed by all the overall property.

Friends Weekend
We are 2 couples in our late 50's that came for a weekend of fun and wine tasting. This is a gorgeous and relaxing location. It is wonderful to sit on the screened in porch and look out over the river. Very peaceful. The decorations in the house are great and we loved every minute. One note - you do need to bring a fire log and charcoal, but, they do sell both at the little grocery store about a half mile away.

Location and property was as described, wasn't able to get in river due to being too low and way too hot! The home is really well decorated and clean. The beds are a bit hard so if you need a softer bed bring a topper.So many places to visit, shop and try all kinds of wines, meads, whiskey, beers and the best foods and all within 15-20 mins. We had a awesome time!

This was a beautiful home in a secluded and quiet location along the river. The interior was nicely appointed and maintained well. It had a lovely forested view. The completely screened in back porch made for comfortable seating that was not interrupted by mosquitos. We would definitely consider returning in the Fall or Spring when it will be not quite so hot as in August.

The property is stunning, absolutely beautiful. I own a cleaning company, so I always spot things that probably normal people don’t see. It definitely needs a really good dusting and a really good water mopping on floors but other than that the place is phenomenal. I plan on booking this property many more times in the future. It is also wonderfully equipped with everything you need. Thank you so much. We had such a good time.

Great weekend !
Enjoyed this weekend here. The property and accommodations were great. Wish we had known about the grill- never told that it was charcoal. Had we known we would have brought the proper items to grill our food. There was no charcoal or lighter fluid. We had no way to cook the meat we brought. Also, need more paper towels for the weekend. Otherwise, everything was excellent. Thanks again!

Relaxing home which is better than pictures
We stayed here at this location for an upcoming wedding and enjoyed ourselves immensely. First the house inside is even better than the photos. It is cute and comfortable. Working fireplace and the hot tub was amazing, even in the cold weather. There is a string of lights down stairs. Under the house in the back, are 2 kayaks, tubes, lawn chairs and even coolers. Everything you need to enjoy the river. The river is plenty wide there for swimming and for kayaking and the pictures do not do it justice. Beds were comfortable and house is actually bigger than it seems. We love this house and recommend it highly to anyone staying in the Stonewall area.

Great river location
Cozy and relaxing. Well appointed kitchen for cooking our Thanksgiving dinner. Comfortable beds and roomy bathrooms. Weather kept us from enjoying the well tended hot tub and kayaking the river. Lovely screened back porch overlooking the river. House is very close to the road which isn’t apparent from the pictures so there is some road noise in the house. There was a problem with the HVAC fan running nonstop. The owner did have maintenance and a HVAC repairman out but the fan could not be replaced due to the holiday and availability. Overall a nice stay.

Peaceful Retreat
The property Riverside Retreat has all the amenities we wanted - a beautiful river in the backyard, screened in porch, hot tub, close to many wineries, Luckenback, etc. Be sure to read ALL the fine print. The property management company charged us additional for sorts of things and ended up costing us almost double what was listed; they were rude, belittling, and unwilling to compromise. Nothing against the property owners or the house - just poor management from Absolute Charm .

25th wedding anniversary
Our stay was wonderful up until about an hour prior to checking out. Shannon with the management company had called and said that the owner had reported to them that we were a party of four and not two. Not sure if that is a real thing, but a 25th anniversary is not something that we celebrate with others. They could have checked the video cameras to confirm prior to making a phone call.
