"We had a room facing the ocean which had a great view and nice ocean breeze. The hotel was a little dated but very comfortable and clean. There was no AC but the fans and the ocean breeze was enough to cool the rooms. There was some street noise with the open widows though if you are a light sleeper and can't use ear plugs. There was a full kitchen which we didn't use since we were only spending one night. Beach access was down the block in walking distance and there were lots of places to eat...

"We wanted to stay near Paestum where my wife's father was during World War 2. The Expedia and hotel web site and previous reviews and pictures and views of the sea swayed us to stay here. The views were fantastic, however - Around 3pm on Wednesday Sept 18, 2013 my wife and I arrived at the Hotel Residence Le Terrazze in Agropoli, Italy. It was CLOSED!!! When I made the reservation I did note the hotel was closed from October 1 until the Spring. We were somewhat frantic being in a foreign country...

"Very disappointed in the house after saving so hard for our holiday and having numerous correspondences with the owner before our arrival to ensure our holiday was going to go well. Firstly I have to say, that I am now suffering with post traumatic stress disorder because there is no road to this house!. the only way to access is via an "unmade goat track" winding along the side of a very steep hill with no guard rail. "This is an 18th century house converted into a quaint inn. Very nice. Easy walk to the ruins. Pleasant staff. The restuarant was pricey and pretentious for supper. (We did the multi-course meal, but later wished we just ordered somethings that were less exotic.) Sit down breakfast in the old wine celler was great."

"We were initially super excited to come to this hotel after seeing pics and it’s high ratings but when we arrived we noticed immediately that we were a burden. The staff was not as friendly as the other hotels and even though we were the only ones there (slow tourist season) every time I asked for something I was made to feel like I was bothering them despite the fact that I speak and am Italian. The biggest issue we had was the air conditioning and the shower drain. We completely understand that some hotels control the A/C and we absolutely understand that when they are fully booked they usually cannot accomodate but it was super annoying that even with few people staying the night and after asking for them to lower the temp in our room (they said they would and they didn’t!) it ended up being so hot and to add to our discomfort the window wouldn’t open. Just made for a miserable night. We went to the restaurant and it was literally a ghost town. We were the only two people there which is no fault of their own. Despite this, the food was delicious and restaurant staff were professional. The room itself was gorgeous but the shower drain was clogged and you had to shut off the shower mid way through or else it would spill into the bathroom floor. Parking was super convenient and the hotel is super close to the Greek ruins in Paestum. Overall average but wouldn’t come back again. "
