Private Luxury Cabin w mountain views and hot tub by Shenandoah National Park

A magical one-of-a-kind retreat where your five senses can run wild. Perched on 14 acres and flanked by wildlife lands enjoy unobstructed view of the Blue Ridge. Each season greets you with majestic mountain views. Witness bright rebirth in spring, summer sunsets over lush mountain tops, vibrant colors in the fall, or frosted silhouettes in the winter. Close to the city but a world away. Modern luxuries crafted with the elegance of an era gone by.

Adventures await at Lazy Bear Oaks!

Built before the turn of the century, this cabin’s character is timeless. The exterior is picturesque with authentic red wood siding and a patina seam copper roof. The stacked field stone chimney and fireplace underscore the beauty of natural materials. Post and beam construction fastened by wood pegs complements the interior’s rustic charm. Pella windows and glass doors highlight gorgeous mountain views. Curated antiques, hand painted art, taxidermy and hide rugs make the living space the perfect place to cozy up. Tongue and grove pine floors with radiant heat will keep you warm in winter. Central air and ceiling fans will keep you cool in summer.

A western facing balcony with rocking chairs offers a front row seat to sunset views over the Blue Ridge. A screened-in porch off the kitchen and master bedroom welcomes a mountain breeze. The kitchen features soapstone counter tops with a Viking professional gas range and oven. A culinary artist will appreciate the Lodge Wildlife Series cast iron and Calphalon cooking sets. Three outdoor cooking areas are available: a park style charcoal grill, Oklahoma Joe’s Longhorn combo grill and a brick oven. A natural stone firepit is also available for roasting marshmallows or sharing stories around a crackling fire. Flagstones and landscape lighting guide you to a 636 sq foot free standing deck with spectacular views and outdoor seating/dining. A Marquis signature 5-person hot tub provides relaxation while offering scenic views.

The cabin has two bedrooms and three full baths. The first-floor master bedroom features a queen bed with Tempur-Pedic Cloud mattress and pillows with Black Forest barnwood furniture. The upstairs guest bedroom features a queen Beautyrest mattress and pillows. The upstairs bathroom has an antique clawfoot tub, and the master bath and basement bath both have walk-in showers. An office space with dual monitors is available on the first floor. A 65” Q led TV rests above the mantle and is ideal for curling up by the warm glow of the fireplace. With over 2,000 sq feet of interior space and almost 1,000 sq feet of exterior decking/porches this inviting cabin is the perfect getaway.

Lazy Bear Oaks is nestled between Greene and Madison County Virginia. It is the perfect quintessential gateway to the Blue Ridge. The gravel driveway is accessible by a paved, state-maintained, road. It is near Shenandoah National Park’s Swift Run Gap entrance (14 miles), Monticello & Montpelier Wine Trails/AVAs, Early Mountain Vineyards (11 miles), DuCard Vineyards (26 miles), Revalation Vineyards (20 miles), Barboursville Vineyards (25 miles), Stone Mountain Vineyards (22.0 miles), Rapidan Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), Conway River (1 mile), Massanutten Resort (skiing, snow tube, swim, etc.), and much more. It is about a two-hour drive from Richmond and Washington DC and just 24 miles from Charlottesville–Albemarle Airport. An effortless escape from the city to rural living.

We want you to have a 5-star stay. Please be aware of the following:

1) We are on conservation land and wildlife is abundant. Please be aware of regulations about wildlife and their presence. We make no guarantees on the wildlife you may or may not see during your stay. Note that you’ll need a pass to explore WMAs or Shenandoah National Park.

2) We have Starlink for streaming and internet. The smart TV features popular streaming apps, and there is also a blue ray/DVD with a small library of movies. HDMI and C-port video cables are already connected to the TV.

3) Most cell phone providers have coverage at the cabin; however, roads and areas leading up to Lazy Bear Oaks have intermittent coverage.

4) Living close to nature brings insects. Lady beetles and other insects may make their way into the cabin’s interior.

5) The cabin does not have childproofing or amenities to accommodate children.
