"We had a comfortable room. We slept well in the comfy bed, with lovely white cotton sheets. Thd bathroom looked like if had been recently furnished. There was a bath with overhead shower, which worked well. The tiwrld were nice white bath sheds, and a smaller one for hair drying. We had tea snd coffee making facilities Hairdryer provided. And a TV on the wall. The staff were all efficient and friendly in every area. Nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast twice , and evening meal twice. The food was very good each time. I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to spend time near Whitby. It is conveniently located near a big Sainsbury’s supermarket, and a Lidl. It took us around 25 mins to walk into Whitby. But we took a taxi one time. And drive ourselves too. "

"This was our first stay at Gisborough Hall Hotel due to attending a wedding at the hotel. The hotel is set in magnificent grounds and from your first contact with reception, all staff are excellent and a credit to the management. Room was clean and ready. As per the brochure pictures. We had lunch in the De Brus Grill and the food was first class. Prices are a bit on the high side but it is a top hotel after all. Breakfast was exceptional. The bed in the room was like sleeping on a marshmallow. The best hotel bed I have ever slep in from visiting many hotels here and overseas. The Lord of the manor visited around the guests and it was a great experience to speak to him in person. He plays the piano in the Hotel in the evenings. And he is 98 years old. An exceptional gentleman. Biggest bonus for the hotel is the staff. Nothing is a problem to them. Polite and friendly with a sense of humour added in. A great weekend for us. I would visit this hotel again."

"A lot of building work going on so somewhat noisy and dusty and beautiful panorama restaurant out of use these are the bad points but the good points are the staff especially Ben our server has n the restaurant who was excellent as was the food we love this place and the views are amazing we will certainly be back yet again to see how it is when the renovations are complete"

"The property is spot on, great place to stay. The owners and staff were very amenable. Top brekky. They have done so well with the place, of course there are very minor niggles but nobody minds.Would happily recommend to anyone. "
