Disliked: Cleanliness
Underwhelmed
Pros: cold a/c, HOT water, comfortable beds, updated showers, working appliances except the dryer (took 3 cycles to dry), games and books available in dining area
Cons: OUTDATED, all sliding doors were so difficult to open/close, "enclosed porch" with the bunk beds was NOT usable not only b/c of extremely small size but once the slider was closed there was no ventilation and our children were too scared to sleep in there, the crow's nest had a rusted chain across it that we couldn't undo so we had to climb over and once we got up there we had NO view b/c every other property surrounding this aged building were more than 3 stories high, the front door was the only access/exit b/c the back porch entrance was pad locked. I mention for safety & b/c we didn't really have a way to control the sand being brought into the house. The walk to the rear of the property to use the outside shower (no foot spray) then walk back made us dirty/sandy again.
*The amount I paid for the week here was similar to Hilton Head last summer at such an amazing property.
Note: This isn't something the property owner could control and they did spray around the front door after a couple days but we were swarmed and "eaten alive" by mosquitoes from the moment we arrived until we left. The walk to the beach got to be so miserable we ended up leaving a day early.
Also be prepared that the water has a sulfur smell. The inside water is mild but the outside shower is very strong.
