Updated and Affordable Island Inn Beachfront Stateroom

Situated on the 5th floor of the Gulf front Island Inn Resort, this updated stateroom features two comfortable full size beds (new premium mattresses and box springs November 2015) with plenty of room for a small family. The condo is fully equipped with a functional kitchenette and includes a full size refrigerator, stove top, microwave, pots, pans, utensils, dishes and cookware.

The private balcony faces directly out to the water, and gives an unprecedented view of the fantastic Gulf sunsets.

Inside you'll find beach-chairs, a full complement of bath and beach towels and extra bedding for those wonderful nights where you'll sleep with the balcony door open listening to the gentle Gulf of Mexico waters.

Enjoy all that the resort has to offer with a beach side pool area, Tiki bar, complementary gas BBQ grills, and even sand volleyball courts.

The location is great. The view is amazing. Owners are very responsive. It was clean but the unit is in need of some TLC. Kitchen & bathroom needs work but are functional. New mattresses needed. Has a ton of potential to be a really cute place with that amazing view!

Older property but clean. Beach location is amazing and walk to the beach is closer than many of the resorts to the north. Beach area was not very busy which was nice. Note the property has a full fridge, cook top, microwave but no oven. Overall a great experience and we really enjoyed our stay.

I absolutely loved my stay here! It was clean and exactly what I needed. The location is perfect - it's quiet, but still around enough places where I never needed to Uber, I was able to walk to everything I wanted to go to. Lastly - that view!!! It never got old. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone interested.

Beach, Beach, Beach!
Excellent location!! Although the condo had 2 small beach chairs which were adequate, we shelled out $30 to rent 2 chaise lounge chairs and a beach umbrella for the day---well worth it in the intense heat! The unit was very clean, quiet, and we loved the balcony....great place to have our coffee and watch the waves for dolphins in the morning, and have our late night supper with a glass of wine watching the lightning show across the sky a couple evenings. Great location, great condo for beach lovers, highly recommend!

No worries with this property it’s clean, bug free, bright and comfortable. View is awesome. Gets direct sun on the balcony around 2pm or so. Two beach chairs and beach towels supplied. Plenty of t paper and bath towels and other supplies. The beds were clean and comfortable as was the other furniture. There is a Publix and Walgreens within walking distance as well as restaurants. Its a short drive to Johns Pass. I vacation in Florida every year if not more and I would have no hesitation reserving this condo again.

This unit has not been updated. The hot and cold water are reversed in the kitchen and bathroom sink. Very confusing. The bathroom sink drips. The tub is almost rusted through.

This room doesn't measure up to some of the nicer rooms we have stayed in over the years. It has some "lack of maintence" & housekeeping issues. The bathroom sink had a crack in it & the bathtub had mold/mildew in the corner & rust by the drain. Floors were pretty but needed mopped not just swept. (The bottoms of our bare feet were black) Beds were very comfortable, air worked great, private balcony is a plus, beach is clean, pool area is small but nice, Tiki bar was convenient. Location is great with walking distance to some good restaurants. This is a Basic room that just lacks the "resort" decor.

Needs some updating
This was my 3rd time staying at a condo at Island Inn. The VIEW is amazing and my favorite thing about it. But this condo in particular needs some updating. The mattresses were bad! My mom has a bad neck and back and I felt bad that she had to sleep on them for 5 nights. And not having new fresh towels for a 5 days, was not good. I had to spend even more money just to wash the towels. I understand they don’t have housekeeping daily because of Covid but you should supply more than 4 towels for 5 days. But overall, the place is decent. I appreciated the beach chairs, the balcony and the view. The price was a little higher than the other 2 I stayed at but still not too bad.

We loved the location and the space/balcony area. However the room is very outdated. The beds killed my back and I'm only 28 lol. Also the place was not very clean. The dishes and drawers in the kitchen were dirty and dust was caked on the fan and ceilings. Our feet were black within a few mins of walking around without shoes on. The sheets and bathroom did seem clean though. The pool was great and so was the Tiki bar. We loved it down there! the staff at the bar was super friendly and the drinks were cheap and strong. The walk to the beach wasn't far at all and the showers to wash the sand off were cleaned daily which was cool. Over all we loved the place but wished it was cleaner and the parking was better, but for the price it was not terrible. Only about 20 cars can fit on site. others park across the street which is pretty busy during the day. There is a cross walk but it is not directly in front of the hotel. Would stay here again, hope this helps.

The hotel itself is fine. This is our second time there. The property was booked via expedia, however the third party was involved. Thus, we had to communicate via specific number to order towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. That means you could only get those items next day. The room (rusty bathroom) needs an update. There was a kitchen/plumbing issue in the floor above, but the plumbers had to work in our room. No one warned, nor contacted us and in the middle of the day we enter the room with doors wide open with 2 guys working on pipes in the kitchen. Was not a very pleasant experience. They had to work there for another few hours, (as they told) so our plans had to be modified. We had to leave for the rest of the day. The property manager came up and apologized, he was very polite, however no one offered anything complimentary for this inconvenience. I believe the hotel management would have done that if we would have booked with them.

Très bien situé, superbe vue. Le seul petit hic est la propreté/odeur. On a trouvé des poils ''suspects'' sur le bol de toilette et dans le bain. Pour l'odeur, c'est dans les armoires de la cuisine. Mais honnêtement, c'est des petits hics car je relouerais cette place certainement.

The location of the Island Inn was central to everything we wanted to do and the beachfront location can't be beat. The beach was just steps away (along with a modest-sized pool) with easy access to a poolside tiki bar and rentals of chairs, umbrellas and paddleboards. Some units have chairs or umbrellas that come with them or were left behind in the unit by previous visitors. On our visit (11/3-11/7) there were free chairs and an umbrella in the unit we rented but we did not use them. Each unit at the Island Inn is independently owned so the management for each is variable. The lobby and elevators have quite the musty/unpleasant odor, but the stench in the unit we rented beat them both with a very sharp and strong odor of mold/mildew. There was a dried up air freshener on the dresser that didn't seem to be doing anything to combat the odor. Opening the kitchenette cupboards released an even stronger odor of mold/mildew. Thankfully, it took less than an hour for our noses to acclimate, though when we returned from our first beach walk, the odor was once again strong enough to knock you over. After we cooked our first meal in the unit, that started competing with the unit odors and seemed to make it less strong, so we purchased a can of air freshener, and surprisingly, that was a enough to make the rest of our stay very pleasant. We had feared it would just be "clean linen" PLUS mold odor, but the freshener we selected worked very well. And we learned to hold our breath when putting dishes in the clean, but stinky cabinets. The unit was clean and the kitchenette reasonably equipped for the size, though we felt it could use an extra large (deeper) skillet that could hold a skillet meal for 4 without spilling over the sides (since there is no oven for those who are looking to save while still enjoying beautiful beachfront accommodations). The provided equipment was in decent shape and met our needs. The unit service was excellent. When we requested to have the deadbolt oiled and to have an ironing board brought by, both requests were filled within minutes! We enjoyed the free access to Amazon Prime video on the unit's TV while we were cooking our meals. Despite the severe odor problems on our first day, we agreed that the location was well worth the hassle of having to run out for a can of air freshener and we would rent this unit again. The helpfulness of this review is limited by VRBO policies that prohibit revealing the unit number.

The room was good ,although we seen some what appeared to be mold spots on the ceiling,but being in a humid area its probably hard not to have some at times,what ever they cleaned the room with and the charcoal odor absorber made me have a asthma attack ,but we sat the absorber outside and air out the room.places are not going to be perfect.
