First Capitol Mansion - The Louis Blanchette
second floor
The Mansion
Make the most of your St. Charles experience with a stay in the historic First Capitol Mansion, right in the heart of the city. This completely renovated home was thoughtfully done, keeping in much of the original brilliant architecture, while bringing in bright light, gathering spaces and modern comfort.
The Louis Blanchette Suite - 301
The Louis Blanchette--named for the founder of St. Charles -- is a bright, open space perfect for a up to a group of 4 guests. Turn in at night in one of 2 large, comfortable beds (1 king and 1 queen sofa sleeper).
This unit is a private space for you and your guests. Once you enter the door at the top of the main staircase on the 2nd floor you are in your private area.
This suite is on the 2nd floor of the house.
The king size bed is located in their own private bedroom. The master suite has a private patio located right outside of the room that overlooks 6th Street. The master suite and the family room both have fireplaces in them. These fireplaces are for show and do not work and should not be tired to be used.
You’ll enjoy most of the common things you would find in your home: We keep supplies of coffee, creamer, sugar, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Guest Access
You will be able to access the unit with a digital code so there is no contact in getting into your unit.
You will also have access to the soda machine located on the back porch.
Start your day right and head across the street to grab some coffee at Crooked Tree Coffeehouse, one of the best coffee shops in the city. Then spend your day exploring St. Charles -- we’re just a quarter mile to the riverfront’s Frontier Park, with its many festivals and easily accessible bike trail, a half mile from shops and restaurants on historic Main Street and a mile from the Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa. Return to the mansion for happy hour-- it’s just a few steps to the Corner Bar, the oldest bar in St. Charles, with one of the last “cocked hat” bowling alleys in the country right in its basement. If you’re feeling something a bit classier, pop over to Cork & Rind, a wine bar and artisan cheese shop that specializes in curating naturally made wines from small vineyards.
