Wonderful unit, questionable block
I want to start off by saying that the listing photos are as beautiful as the unit if not underselling it. The space is huge, inviting, very brightly lit, and welcoming. The accommodations were everything we needed. They had coffee and coffee filters ready for us, the kitchen was fully stocked, we had no issues cooking all of our meals for the visit. The only negative was the lobby and elevator smelling heavily of weed, leading to an awkward conversation with my children.
The location is, by distance, 2 blocks from city museum, and 1 mile to the arch. We were able to walk with our family (4 adults and 2 small kids) to all locations and experience the city. And we drove to the zoo and the art museum which were less than 20 minutes away. Very centralized and convenient location.
However, this part of the city was a little rough though. The particular block where the unit is located was pretty sketchy during daylight hours On par, or worse than, bourbon street at times. With our small kids we made sure to be in before dark each evening. The street shut down on the weekends and might have been some sort of open/party/street district area at night. When we came out Saturday morning the street was trashed. I won't belabor the point, but be prepared and stay aware.
None of that is the fault of the listing owner. The building is where it is. And the unit was awesome. Just be prepared for the city.
