Back of the golf course cottage

Come and enjoy a relaxing family stay in the quiet location of St Leonards. Backing onto the St Leonards Golf Course on a quiet cul-de-sac. This place maintains the bush charm of a small two bedroom cottage.

Perfect for a family getaway, it is only 1.2km from the beach and pier. The walk to the beach is easy and flat and the shallow beach is a favourite of parents with young children. Once you return home, there is plenty of space to run around on for the kids, and you will be surprised of the quietness of the location. As the property backs onto the golf course it is only a short stroll to play that round of golf. There is also access to the internet for those who just can't seem to get away from being online.

It is the shortest of short drives to the local IGA and the coffee shop makes a fantastic hot breakfast and coffee. The charm of St Leonards is no better than after a hot breakfast at the coffee shop, and having a stroll along the beach and/or the pier with a coffee in hand.

The house can sleep up to 5 and has 2 bedrooms with bunks and queen beds. One room has been also set up with bunk beds to sleep up to 3 people (Bunk beds with single bed on top, double bed on the bottom and a roll out trundle bed). Some pillows and blankets are available, however you will need to supply your own sheets and towels. If you do feel the cold, it is also recommended to bring down your favourite doona. The Queen size bed is very comfortable and purchased new recently.

The bathroom maintains the charm of the age of the house, with a shower, toilet and sink. It is clean and comfortable and has been previously set up for the mobility impaired with a walk in shower with handles and no obstructions.

The lounge room is all old school charm and the perfect place to relax after a long or even slow day. It opens up to a dining room. A gas heater stands alone providing warmth and the impression of a safe log fire and air conditioner for those really warm days.

The kitchen also maintains the age of the house, and is clean and functional. It has everything the aspiring master chef needs after visiting the surrounding areas gourmet produce. It includes the basics like the fridge, microwave, kettles, toaster etc, but also the coffee machine for that morning cappuccino.

On your way out the back you will find the laundry to wash the towels etc. from a relaxing day at the beach.

Beautiful holiday cottage
Nice little get away property with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Internet not working as being investigated but owners let us know in advance. Place was clean on arrival and new shower curtain in bathroom. Beautiful and quiet location and not far from town and beach. Take your own sheets/ towels and doonas are supplied. Loved this place and will definitely be back in the future. Had a great weekend away. Lawns were clean and cut and place was neat.

Beautiful beach home hidden gem
This was our 2nd stay and we had such a wonderful time staying in this lovely home. Owner is lovely and very accomodating. Has a well maintained yard perfect for the kids and a sun bake and only 3mins from St Leonard’s pier. The kitchen is wonderful for a nice home cooked meal and plenty of space. Will be back for our 3rd stay before the end of summer. 10/10

Terrible, don’t book!!
On driving into the property the lawns were long. Stepping into property we found dust everywhere, no wifi at all, dirty bathroom , mould on shower floor & curtains, arm chairs with stains, deck out back unsafe and trampoline broken. Also no toilet paper. Cannot open windows to air the place out. Dirty matress. Not sure how this is even allowed to be rented out.

Enjoyed our stay at your holiday house - comfortable house and good value for money. Two bedroom ‘no frills’ beach house and lovely outlook in back garden with relaxing deck. Exactly what we needed for a restful time. Fifteen minute walk to shops and beach or short drive - lovely aquamarine ocean and great kids swimming beach too Thank you

Lovely clean little cottage convenient to beach, cafes and shops
Inside is clan, well presented and has everything you need. Outside the back home made deck area has a cracked board and needs some urgent care and attention. Bbq could use a good clean and it might be good to have a covered area for the bbq, in case of bad weather.

St Leonards by the golf course
We liked that this property was in such a quiet location. The house was clean and the beds comfortable. Unfortunately, the host doesn’t provide dishwashing detergent or tea towels and it was obvious that the guests prior to us weren’t prepared for this. As a consequence, we found the dishes and cooking utensils to be dirty and greasy. Luckily, we were well prepared and gave everything a good wash before use. We also recommend that as well as bringing towels and linen, guests pack a bath mat.

Lucky to find it.
To find anything on the Bellarine Peninsula this time of year and when we did was lucky. Nice comfortable stay. Cute little seaside cottage. Plenty of room for the dogs to run around out the back. Few small complaints, no toilet paper, fly Spray or access to broom. Just little things but important for a long stay.

Christmas Holiday 2022
You have asked me how our holiday at St Leonards was, – where do I start. I will supply several photos together with this letter. This place should be removed from your website as it will give you a bad name. It is not fit for use by any self-respecting holiday maker. If we had been able to find another place nearby, we would have left on the first day. First of all, the documentation supplied was all about don’t do this and don’t do that, not a friendly introduction to our stay, and way out of date ie Internet connection and the cover photo. The name Backs onto Golf Course”is misleading as you cannot see the golf course because of the jungle at the back of the house. On our arrival we were absolutely disgusted with the condition of the premises. AND THEY CHARGE PEOPLE FOR CLEANING!!!!! You would think that with COVID a greater effort would be made to ensure the premises were hygienically clean. We purchased Pine O Cleen to thoroughly clean benches and tables before we dared eat. We were greeted with cobwebs on all doors and windows. The windowsills were full of dust and bugs and couldn’t be opened. The grill had been used by the previous tenants and not cleaned. The exhaust fan in kitchen was filthy and obviously hadn’t been cleaned for years. There is a cord hanging down near the kitchen sink which is extremely dangerous. There was an inch of dust underneath the bed in the main bedroom, obviously not cleaned for years. Not good for people like us who suffer from asthma, or respiratory problems. The ceiling fans did not work. (Maybe the batteries in the remotes were flat!!) There are no wardrobes therefore nowhere to hang clothes. No Broom to sweep floor, the stick vacuum was so full of dust and rubbish it didn’t work properly. No instructions of how to use electrical equipment, or utensils. Ironing board and iron locked away in a cupboard – if we had known that we would have brought our own iron. The back yard was not secure and therefore we could not leave the dog outside on his own, and the kennel was so dirty, full of fleas and spiders, no dog would be safe in it. Even though they said no dogs inside, there had obviously been a big dog inside due to the large claw marks on the floor. They charge $50 for the dog – what does the dog get for his money other than fleas?? The property is not pet or human friendly. Please take note of all our concerns and the photos which will accurately depict our concerns. Ian

Too dusty Backyard not secured to leave our fur babies unattended Kennel too dirty for fur babies Too many spider webs on back and front door and windows If owner paid someone to clean before us using he needs a new cleaning crew Positive side location is great good walking distance to shops and beach Would stay again only if house was cleaned up and back yard secured

Relaxing and convenient location
Great little home, very quiet location, big yard for kids and dog, handy location, close to shops and Parks, very pretty waterfront in St Leonards, local fish and chip shop was the best fish and chips we have ever had, not far to go see great Ocean road, the house ( particularly the kitchen) had a good range of cookware, knives etc, owner Ray was very prompt in responding to messages and was nice enough to let us check in early. Overall great stay, refreshing Holiday.

Nice little property on a quiet and clean street with friendly neighbours. The gas log heater was awesome for the cold rainy nights and chilly mornings. Has everything you need for a simple relaxing getaway. Didn’t get a chance to use the back yard facilities. Definitely recommend and hope to come back again in the future.
