Disappointed. Went to St Joseph’s Joseph’s for
Parent’ Weekend & thought it be convent to stay in town. I called the Roadway Inn directly and they said they were all booked but on Expedia said 3 openings. Hotel room smelled dirty, like someone hadn’t bathed. Called front dest and solution was to open our window, if it doesn’t work, all they had was can of spray. Found a dead fly on the bed but fortunately no bedbugs. Bedding and wash rags were thin and worn out, hope they at least used bleach to sanitize. There were 3 in our room and only 2 sets of towels, clearly said 3 with reservations. We weren’t brave enough to shower there. Heating cooling unit was noisy with loud, hail like tappings in the unit every couple of minutes. Heat smelled like something was burning. Since we booked online through Expedia, they didn’t have our credit card for “ incidentals” the man checking us in “wrote” my card down on paper. The next morning verifying checkout process, I asked about the card, and was told they kept the number in their room and once they verified we hadn’t stolen anything, they would rip it up. I should have been a better consumer and asked for the card number but I was in shock about the entire awful experience. I am not a hotel snob but I have some basic expectation. Rate was still $140ish so wasn’t cheap, could have stayed at a cheaper place in St Cloud for less. Everything was rundown and needing an update. Hotel is run by a couple who stay on site. Never again!
