Driftwood, Carbis Bay - a house that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms

With its world class Blue Flag beach, fantastic restaurants and proximity to St Ives, it’s no wonder holidays in Carbis Bay are something rather special. White sands, subtropical surroundings and safe swimming make it a perfect place for both couples and families to enjoy, and with so many fun, water-based activities on offer, days can be as energetic or as laid-back as you fancy.

Set on a quiet street on the outskirts of town, this three-bedroom bungalow is perfectly suited to family holidays on the north Cornish coast, with both Carbis Bay Beach and Porthkidney Sands being just a short distance away. Three double bedrooms (including a master ensuite) provide ample space for 6 guests, while a large sitting room and a spacious conservatory mean there’s plenty of room to unwind in. Attractive furnishings and bright bedrooms create a welcoming atmosphere, while an established private garden to the back of the house is just the place for relaxing and entertaining in the sunshine. With its range of appliances, cookware and utensils, whisking up freshly prepared meals in the home’s big kitchen is a breeze, and guests can gather around the dining table for mealtimes together before challenging each other to a game of cards or a board game.

Being so closely positioned to the towns of Hayle and St Ives means there’s plenty to see and do in the area, with the beauty being that both can be reached either on foot or via a short train trip on the scenic St Erth line. The town’s award-winning C Spa with its wonderful pool, incredible sea views and on-site facilities is open to the public, so for visitors looking to treat themselves to a touch of indulgence there’s no better place for it.

Perfect stay on a beautifull location
We enjoyed it very much, to stay in Carbis Bay in the Driftwood. It is the perfect base to explore the south-west of Cornwall such as Lands End, St. Ives, Mousehole, Tintagle etc. The Beach of Carbis Bay is beautifull with a nice hikes along the coast. You can reach it without using your car. The House is nice, well equipped and clean. Perfect!

2 weeks stay near Carbis Bay
Perfect location and walking distance to Carbis Bay and short drive to St Ives. Overall house was nice. Layout was good and lots of space. Kitchen was fully equipped but no tea, coffee or sugar provided. We’ve stayed at several luxury coastal holidays over the years but this one lacked the luxury part. The TVs are outdated and weren’t SMART TVs. So it made chilling in the evening mundane with just terrestrial channels to watch. We wouldn’t normally complain but if you’re looking for something luxury this needs a little work before that’s possible.

Great Family Stay
Our family enjoyed our one week holiday staying at this home! It was great location to all we wanted to see and do in Cornwall, as well as being a clean home with great features. We made use of the kitchen every morning and evening, cooking our own meals (and a table that fits 6!). Everything we needed for cooking was provided. Traveling with small children, we also made use of the washer and clothes rack. We also liked there was two living/family spaces including the conservator, which is great when parents need a break from the kids. This home is in a great neighborhood and we felt very safe with lots of room for parking.

Just wonderful!
Perfect for what we needed. 4 of us oldies going to a wedding event in Carbis Bay. Comfortable, spacious, light, airy, everything we needed. Good Wi-Fi, well fitted out kitchen, wonderful showers in the modern bathrooms. Off road parking in quiet residential area. Great taxi service in the local area (ACE Cabs) Couldn’t fault it!

Lovely Property Rental
The property has great kerb appeal. Once inside the area is very spacious. However there were a number of faults with property particularly the cleanliness. The kitchen surfaces were all greasy and I had to clean them thoroughly before they could be used. The bathroom in the en-suite was unclean. There was a live creature in the corner of the floor coving which at first just looked like dirt but it moved when I tried to clean the area. The shower cubicle had surface mould on the tiles which again just need a thorough clean. The recess area in this room also had a pair of old contact lenses on it which implied that this had not been cleaned at all. The kitchen knives were not suitable or fit for purpose. They were so blunt and could not cut raw meat at all. The cutlery for daily uses is a mismatch. Also the dishes that were in the cupboard 3 out of the number had great big chips in them as did the side plates. The large tumbler type glasses in the cupboard also had chips in them. The coffee machine was unusable as smelt of stale milk. This did not make any difference to our stay but it just needs highlighting as this can be easily rectified. It makes having to pay the housekeeping bond ha4d to comprehend when the property was left in such a poor state of cleanliness. However would we stay here again then the answer would be yes as the location is ideal. the owner of this property needs to address these issues to make this place as attractive a# the description.
