It is located right next to the boat ramp (which you will need to take across the lake if you are arriving by train, 8 euro per person for round trip) and is convenient to all cafes, restaurants, shops. Heads up on visiting Hallstatt during January - several shops and activities such as the bone house and sky walk were closed until February.
