The property looks as though it is from the Colonial era, and has not been maintained since that time It's location is what sells, not the property. The apartment was not maintained. The beds were old and rotting.The bedding, looked and felt like someone 's used sheets and pillows, three and a half black out curtains, dresser drawers that didn't close,horrible bathroom horrible beach chairs.Apartment 15 at the GEM is HORRIBLE! GRENADA is BEAUTIFUL!

The location was steps away from a calm and beautiful beach. The room was cleaned extremely well everyday, staff friendly and helpful. Was very nice to have a kitchen to cook at times. Ideal for a family with enough space for all.

This local hotel could truly be a gem or maybe it used to be, but accommodations are poorly maintained with many items in the room not working and very minimal house cleaning service. Old fashioned house key to enter and no security lock - easy access also through the glass sliding door possible made us feel uneasy.

It was, as was previously reported, in serious need of updating. That said, we know that would come at a cost. For the budget traveler it is a pleasant, homey place to stay on a lovely, quiet crescent of powered sand. Plenty of hot water and the kitchen was perfect for breakfasts in room. It is walkable to several good restaurants and beach bars. The staff are warm and helpful. Especially my namesake, Kathleen. Her employer should know she is worth her weight in gold! Other than a better lock on the door ( I can’t help it, I’m a city kid! ) we loved our stay there!

The beach was amazing just steps away from the apartment setting. Property is dated but quaint and clean. Easy parking with beachside food/morning coffee. I would definitely stay again. 15 minutes to airport.

A lovely welcome by Lorraine who organised special birthday greeting. Comfortable clean rooms just a stones throw from the beach. Quaint old school Caribbean feel and tasty saltfish breakfast from La Sur de Mar. Appreciate the late check out.La Brisa Bistrot down the road had delicious dinner options.

Gem is perfectly placed on a beautiful sheltered bay in Grenada. It is an older property but is clean and perfect for those that want an apartment rather than a room on a Caribbean beach. It works very well for us and the staff are very attentive. We like to stay in places that are locally owned and where we can cook with access to the beach. This place offers all three. Thank you Gem. We shall be back
