We had 2 weeks at Sunny, Steph was very good, let us arrive the early hours of Saturday to avoid the traffic (6 hrs drive) of the day, which we were very grateful for.
Pool: The pool was freezing at 24 degrees, we contacted Steph on the Sunday to tell her about the cold pool & could the temperature be increased. Steph advised that the recent rain would have dropped the temperature! & asked us to check the jets as they come on in the morning & afternoon & maintenance would pop in on Monday & check. The mobile reception at the house is almost non-existent, so messaging is not easy. On Thursday she sent a text to ask if all was ok, which we replied that it was still very cold. We are NOT great complainers & my grandson still wanted to use the pool, but how my daughter or son-in-law managed to go in with it so cold I don’t know. The reply was Adam was coming tomorrow to check it. Adam turned the pool heating to constant & it was wonderful to all be able to use the pool, but it meant that for a whole week it was freezing! Adam said 30 degrees should be the norm, but Steph said it’s 27/28 degrees. We asked if we could have a reduction if we booked for next year considering we had a week without using the pool really. Steph was curt in her reply & said she can only sort a problem if she knows about it, so no negotiation on price for next year. I do understand that, however, surely maintenance should be checking before guests arrive what the temperature is? Just before leaving, we asked if we booked 2 weeks next year, then could she guarantee the pool would be at 30 degrees, we understood this would be more than normal, but asked if it would be possible. Well, we NEVER got a reply & I think that tells you what sort of person she is. You booked it, don’t make any negative comments as she will be on the defensive & we feel it was extremely rude not to reply, we would have understood a “no that won’t be possible”.
The kitchen It is FULL of duplicate items you do not need as a holiday home. There are 7 potato peelers, 3 mixers, 9 frying pans etc., clutter, clutter. The worst is the huge dehumidifier in the window, blocking the view of the birds that are feeding right beside the house & became our highlight of the holiday. The dining room - Lovely large table, huge dresser, which is FULL of crockery, it’s all filthy as there is so much of it no-one uses it. Had an infestation of wasps before leaving, didn't inform Steph as didn't want a confron
