Forgan Cottage - newly refurbished

Centrally located 5 minutes walk from the town centre, Forgan Cottage has the charm of an historic cottage with all modern comforts. The cottage was built circa 1896 by the Forgan family who in the late 1800s were one of the leading golf club manufacturers based in St Andrews.
The cottage was modernised in 2012 and has recently undergone major refurbishment in 2022 with new basement utility area, new decor, furnishings and flooring in all the bedrooms, and new flooring throughout the rest of the cottage.
The bright living/dining area looks out onto the back garden and the path along the Kinness Burn can be accessed through the rear garden gate.
All bedrooms have superking size beds, and can all be converted to twin beds.
The large centrally heated basement has been fully modernised with new units and flooring this year. There is a new washing machine, tumble dryer, additional integrated fridge and freezer, wine chiller fridge and specially designed space for your dog. There is also ample space to store bikes and golf clubs.

Forgan Cottage is so charming, and such a great location to walk anywhere in St Andrews. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was perfectly equipped. And there was even a lovely welcome package. We could not have enjoyed our stay more. We will be back.

Forgan Cottage provided quite an enjoyable stay. The property owner Tricia was very organized and communicated everything well ahead of time. The cottage was clean, comfortable, roomy and functional. The location was convenient to shopping, dining and pubs as well as golf links. Shuttle service and bus station nearby. Thanks again for a great visit! We’ll be back.

There are no words that can describe this little heaven within about 200 yards from one of the best streets in ST Andrew’s I have stayed in VRBO’s all over the world and this place is absolutely outstanding Lovely sized accommodation, great backyard and patio area A perfect spot for a great 3 day trip with family and friends for a wedding in St Andrew’s Book and enjoy Tom and my 5 friends

Wonderful cottage walking distance to town.

Fantastic Time At Forgan Cottage
We had a fantastic time in St. Andrews and our stay at Forgan cottage. The Graham’s are excellent hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay a very memorable one. The cottage is in an excellent location (easy walking to Attractions and Pub’s) within the town of St. Andrews. It is very nicely decorated and very comfortable as it has been totally refurbished. A Fantastic Home in the Heart of St. Andrews
A great home for family stays or for golf trips. The house is just a few steps away from the the middle of town and quick access to golf and all that St.Andrews has to offer. This cottage was very clean and well equipped, and the washer/dryer was a big help since we were five days into our trip. A bit of a hike to town and even further to the links, but close to the botanical garden and the local shops and restaurants on south street.

A quaint cottage with a luxurious interior
We had a lovely stay at Forgen Cottage. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with super beds. The living room is very comfortable and the kitchen is newly refitted to a very high standard. The jewel in the crown is the outdoor space which is perfect for relaxing in at the end of a busy day enjoying all that St Andrews has to offer.

Stunning accommodation in St Andrews
I stayed here recently for a business golf trip to St Andrews. The communication with the owner in advance of our stay was first class. She provided us with all the information we needed to check in smoothly and was quick to respond to a few questions I had. The cottage is absolutely stunning, the rooms are huge and extremely comfortable. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The huge converted basement is ideal for storage, and the garden is the perfect outdoor space to relax. The cottage is only 10 mins walk to the Old Course and the centre of town. I would highly recommend this accommodation if you are looking for a place in St Andrews. We will definitely be back. ★★★★★

A perfect cottage in a perfect location in St Andrews with superb hosts.
The property is even better than pictured, and the perfect blend of location and access. We stayed with an another couple and our teenage son. We also entertained our daughter and her husband there (they live in St Andrews). Perfect location close town (few 100 feet) but with free parking nearby. Access to both shopping areas (Market street and the Aldi/ M&S) The unit is exquisite, nicely appointed and with all the touches you need (full sized washer and dryer, dishwasher, extra freezer and fridge. The outdoor space is incredible. Ducks in the burn behind and the furniture and backyard space on nice days are amazing. The kitchen is deceptively well planned. We cooked for up to 8 with no problems. There must be a special time/space warp that made it bigger. The hosts were amazingly receptive by all modes of communication. We had a few requests and they were happy to work with us. I have never had a better host for a stay. We have stayed in apartments and cottages 6 times in last 4 years in St Andrews and nearby towns. This was the nicest location with best hosts. A perfect spot for up to three couples to stay, and if others are nearby perfect place to host if they want to stop by for a visit.
