"After extensive research of accommodations on Dominica, Villa Vista was the only choice for me. This decision was based on the view, the size of the house, and the private pool. Lots of space to be together or alone. Very comfortable. Also, a significant number of positive reviews are always a plus.There are multiple choices of restaurants and small stores nearby to get adequate supplies of what we needed. Blackbeards Goat Farm was a surprising highlight and The Chocolate Factory are both minutes away.Chris, the owner, and Gweneth the manager, were always accessible and friendly to answer any questions. If I’m back in Dominica, Villa Vista will be my choice. January temperatures were pleasant with no significant bug activity. Pleasant breezes.During our seven night stay we drove ourselves around most of the island twice and down to Scott’s Head. Red Rocks near the house was also a highlight. There’s so much to see and you can’t see it all. So we made sure to reserve two days just to relax at the house and enjoy the view, and the people of Calibishie.Thank you to Chris and Gweneth for insuring our stay was comfortable and welcoming. "

"Great property and staff were very accommodating. The front desk called me when I landed to let me know the kitchen was closing and if we wanted pizza since we would arrive late. The pizza was waiting in our room. And on the last night (Christmas Eve) we asked the staff in the restaurant if we can get some local food. They were so happy to oblige. Great Island, great resort, great people!"

"We stayed at Hibiscus Valley Inn for 9 days in a Semi-Deluxe Room (#11). It was a wonderful experience. The room was great, the surrounding of a tropical garden was delightful. The staff (Shine, Linda, Coffee, Omahry, and Nigel) were very friendly and more than helpful. Hibiscus Valley Inn is only 20 minutes (by car/taxi) from the airport in Marigot. The staff can organize tours to different highlights of Dominica. For a longer stay, we still recommend to rent a car to explore the island more independently. Altogether we were very satisfied with our stay at Hibiscus Valley Inn and we are looking forward to return."

"Myself and 5 other family members stayed at this location for 10 days. The view alone is enough to book the place! It is absolutely stunning. Every bedroom and the dining/living room have doors that open up to one of the two terraces. You have a prime view of Hodges bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Just along the side of the house is a trail that leads down to Hodges bay where you can swim in the bay and/or the Mamelabou River. The trail is mostly made of natural stairs so can be tough for those who are not as able bodied. We found that the beach part of the bay and the entrance of the river is rather shallow which made it very nice to relax in. There were some days that had more sargassum than others, but that’s just the ocean for ya! The house is absolutely lovely and well maintained. The owners have done a wonderful job at furnishing things for their visitors. They even provide toiletries that you wouldn’t typically receive at a hotel. Razors/shavers were provided, toothpaste tubes, bug bite relief products, towels for the beach, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and dishes needed for cooking, baking, eating. The owners are very kind people, as well as, their property manager Kelvin. Kelvin was great to work with. We had a couple incidents happen (none at the fault of anyone, just normal maintenance) and Kelvin was always very helpful and ensured fixes were taken care of. Their driver, Harvey, is the best on the island, if needed! 10/10!!!!"

"It was a very serene lodge. We only got to stay one night but the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We slept with the screened windows open and could hear the rain all night. It was such a good night’s sleep. The hosts were wonderful and we had a Continental Breakfast of fruit, avocado and toast and an excellent chicken and rice dinner with avocado and vegetables. I would like to return for a week or more."

"Nixson and his mother are lovely. He took time to make sure I was comfortable, and kindly shared his knowledge of the plants in his garden with me Fridge, hot shower, comfy bed, nearby shops, atm, restaurants Some mozzies but there are nets so I slept great I went to Batibou beach nearby, about a 1hr walk, or 10 min drive. My jaw was on the floor 😍 I enjoyed my stay. Thank you"
