Never book here if you want a safe stay and a reasonable host.
On Jan 12th, I booked a reservation with VRBO For January 19th -23rd in Springfield MO. Upon arrival at my reservation; there was a defective Fire alarm beeping extremely loudly every 30 seconds. I messaged the host and asked for emergency service. They were unreachable. I then called support. They messaged the host and also failed to reach them. VRBO determined that the stay was unhealthy and put me in a hotel but only covered two nights of my four night stay. I asked for a refund, VRBO said that Health and Safety would review the video evidence and process the refund. That was on Jan 19th. The host then responded on Jan 19th and asked me to do the maintenance myself. When I explained that it was 10 ft high and that I had already moved out and wanted a refund he did not respond. Instead he gave me 5 star review for my stay at the end of the trip; completely ignoring the fact that I did not stay; had notified him on Jan 19th that I moved out and has not yet processed my refund.I have since called VRBO support weekly and every week I get the same response. Customer support says that Health and Safety will review my request after putting me on hold for 20 mins. When I talk to online chat they tell me the host is responsible for the refund not them.
