Based on reviews, I expected more, but it was fine. The front desk service started strong—two suited-up staffers (a bit much for a 3-star) were eager to explain everything. Funny thing, though—that was the last time I saw them. I went through the lobby 6-8 times, and checkout was just a drop box. The one elevator was very slow, but the stairs were surprisingly walkable—worth using if you're on a lower floor. I stayed in a suite for two nights, then moved to a standard room. Both had LVP floors, which felt cleaner than carpet. Beds were fine, but the standard room was compact, with seating limited to the desk chair or bed. Cleanliness was good, though signs of wear showed—chipped vanities, a stained molding spot, and oddly textured walls (wallpaper? bad drywall?). Renovations are in progress, which is promising. Breakfast was average—not the worst, but far from the best for this class of hotel. The dining room felt undersized, especially on weekends. A highlight: the adjacent Delaney House restaurant. Pricey, but huge portions and excellent quality. Suites have microwaves for leftovers, but standard rooms don’t, and the breakfast room lacks one. Overall, just okay. Could be better, but could be worse.

Honestly, if you’re going to be under construction. Do it floor by floor and close off access. The elevator and carpets were filthy, because of construction debris. AND My bathroom, had mold in it! My bed was large but had a massive welt, in it that I would roll into. This place HAS a lot of potential but overall, not worth it. The layout of the room was off balance. Which drove me BANANAS. For example the TV was off center from the bed clearly the intention was to align it TO foot of the bed yet it was off by like 3’. It’s like someone slapped the details of this room together. It’s old and new, and NOTHING MATCHES. Ive worked in design for decades and this place needs to get it together. THE BATHROOM REALLY grossed me out, I had to stay another night. Due to overbooking I had to go to hotel across town. I ended up at a 3-4 star Quality Inn. IT WAS SPOTLESS. WITH all new amenities. I was very surprised at the difference in quality versus the ratings.

Jim at the front desk was excellent and welcoming. The restaurant is also excellent, though make sure to make reservations as it’s quite popular. The hotel is undergoing a needed facelift, so I won’t rate it on appearance at this point. The rooms with fireplaces have electric “fireplaces.” I thought they would be gas. Overall, we had a good stay.
