Art House Down-Artsy, Pets, Comfy, Safe, Beautiful

ArtHouse Down is a stylish & cozy ADULT space (not suitable for children/infants) with unique character, outdoor living area, & all the basics. Located close to downtown in the highly desirable & eclectic Perry District, with cafes, pubs, shops, music, Farmer’s Market, parks, & bus service. ArtHouse Down is designed to inspire the mind & delight the eye, focus on comfort, & display the unique hand-crafted furniture & artwork. We welcome responsible dog owners at downstairs unit--Art House Down.
Must be 21 years of age to book.
WHERE YOU'LL STAY
ArtHouse Down is a 2BD, 1B duplex unit aimed at up to 4 adults who want comfort and convenience, while enjoying an artistic and unique place to stay. If you have more than 4 people in your group, you might consider adding ArtHouse Up to your reservations, as it will also accommodate 4 adults. There is a gate between the backyards and the spaces could easily be shared. With all the essential kitchen equipment needed to cook in or BBQ, and close to numerous Perry District restaurants, you're sure to have great meals.
We've put a desk in each bedroom, High speed Comcast Internet (download speed 575 mbps), ensures you'll be able to work, and stream shows and movies on the smart TV. We have a washer/dryer in the unit and supply laundry products, iron and ironing board.
Each bedroom is themed and has a super comfy queen mattress with USB ports by each bed for easy charging of your devices, and blackout curtains for a peaceful sleep. The closets are big and roomy with extra pillows and blankets.
We've also supplied board games and books for adults. There are puzzles, coloring supplies and books, and crossword books in the chest on the bottom shelf below the TV, to help make your down time more enjoyable. Or take advantage of all the fun things the Perry District and Spokane have to offer.
There is an electric fireplace for extra comfort in the cold season, separate heat thermostats for each bedroom, and main living area, temperature control on heater in bathroom, ceiling fans, and air conditioning for your comfort.
Outdoors, is a delightful back yard with grape vine-covered fencing & flowers galore in the warm season. There's a large patio area with table and chairs, and extra seating and BBQ grill on the back porch. Enjoy the yard art and charming bench under a vine covered arbor, perfect for a quick cuddle and some memorable photos.
We don't just ALLOW dogs, we LOVE them and go the extra mile to make it a breeze for responsible dog-owners to bring their fur babies. We don't charge extra for your dogs, but have a strict limit of TWO. All we ask is that you notify us of any dogs you will be bringing. Woof!
Enjoy the one-of-a-kind Art House Down with your pups, in the most interesting neighborhood in Spokane!

If you are interested in stays that are longer than 28 days, please make a request, and I will contact you.

ACCESS
Guests have full access to ArtHouse Down inside, except for our locked supply closet. There is a shared front yard and your own fenced back yard. The driveway to the east of the building, the yellow storage building in back, and the back lot are all private property and not for guest access. We are frequently there working in the garden, and occasionally have small, quiet craft shows when the weather is warm. There are signs on the gates for clarity.
There are outside garbage and recycling cans in the driveway on the east side of the building. I will put them out on the street for collection on Tuesday mornings.
YOUR HOSTS
Hello! We are Lesa Delisi, a recently retired speech teacher for the Spokane Public Schools and artist, and Dennis Thomas, a holistic veterinarian with an online practice, “Heart to Heart Holistic Healthcare for Pets”. We live a block from the ART HOUSE, and have been in the Perry District for more than 20 years. We have five children and five grandchildren, scattered across WA and TX, and lots of pets! We generally like to have fun and enjoy living in the Pacific NW.
We are Mom & Pop hosts and strive to offer the personal touches that a corporate-owned place can’t. We use the back lot (separate from the Art House yards) quite a bit for gardening and some small craft events in warm weather. Don’t be surprised to see my husband and me working there or raking leaves out front, etc. We are semi-retired and live just around the corner.
We know you value your privacy and will try to stay out of your hair but are available through the platform app, if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to flag us down if you see us. We know all the neighbors and are often out and about socializing with them, or walking our dogs, and we love a good chat!
Also, take advantage of the QR codes in the Guest book inside, or the online Guest book, for information about local attractions and any needs you may have.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Perry District is commonly thought of as the "artistic and eclectic" neighborhood in Spokane. It is in an older part of town, and has all the charm and foibles you'd expect, including older, sometimes broken sidewalks, and a variety of architecture, artists, musicians, bakers, and craftspeople.
There are numerous restaurants, shops, pubs, houses of worship, parks and walking trails right in the Perry District. Book a yoga session, have your hair and nails done, buy a new book, or get a massage all a block from the Art House.
The Perry District is a "walking" neighborhood, full of artists, musicians, and crafts people. The neighborhood has a nice mix of young singles, families, and older folks. We're also known as the area of Spokane with the most diversity.
It is close to Downtown and all the main areas of business, education, entertainment, and medicine. Sacred Heart and Deaconess hospitals are very close. Gonzaga, EWU & WSU Riverpoint Campus, and Whitworth downtown campus are all within 3 miles. There are Spokane Transit Authority buses available within a block, the airport is ~8 miles away, and Amtrak station is ~2 miles away.

GETTING AROUND
The Spokane Transit Authority system has stops a block and a half from the ART HOUSE. Spokane International Airport is 8.1 miles away, Amtrak station is 2.1 miles away. There are several taxi services in Spokane, and, of course, Uber. You can often find Lime scooters and bikes parked around the Perry District. Spokane is a bike-friendly city and there is a bike repair shop a block over from the ART HOUSE.
WILDLIFE
Spokane, like many cities, has its share of urban wildlife. Don’t be surprised if you see deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, hawks, and the occasional skunk in the neighborhood. We try to coexist with them and enjoy their presence when they appear. As with all wildlife, if you encounter them, "look but don't touch".

Road weary traveler
After so many hours on the road I needed a quiet place to rest, regroup and refresh. This space was perfect for me.. The arrangements were at the very top of my budget so my expectations were high going in and Lesa did not disappoint. I will make this my Spokane home away from home for future visits

Nice surprise
The home is cozy and comfortable. My host my was very nice, responsive, and generous. Location is walking distance to Perry street shops, restaurants, and I think I saw some day spas too. I would definitely recommend a stay here! Thanks again
