Comfortable and plenty of room for the family. A ton of deer in the neighborhood so fun watching them in the morning. If I had one critique it would be the toilets misflush quite often which was a nuisance at best but would have been a perfect stay for us if that issue didn’t exist
Quiet neighborhood, beautiful location but property lacks esthetics due to being outdated. This property could use some TLC where bathrooms are concerned along with outdoor trees rubbing on decking. Although the quiet neighborhood the tree coming up middle of decking outside caused loud knocking in downstairs bedroom. Living room could use more comfortable chairs. Overall this property has a lot of potential to become a wonderful getaway.
The property was perfect for our group. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and was set up just right. Comfy beds and cold AC. Pretty finishes. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood (just a peek of water visible, but nice hill views). Pool right up the road (there were 2 others but we didn’t check them out). Great location less than 10 min to Krause springs. The one con is that many, many items were in need of repair. Dishwasher did not work (sprayed dirty water and dishes came out dirtier than went in, all dishes in cabinets were dirty and had to be hand washed before use), water and ice in the fridge did not work, downstairs toilet had to constantly reset flapper to flush it. There were basic dishes but nothing more than standard so if you’re planning big meals, bring your own baking sheets, etc. There were no games at all or toys for kids, which was not listed and is fine but just in case anyone was wondering. Overall, if the property would have the repairs needed, it would have been a 10/10 stay. We had a wonderful time and just adapted to the things we needed to work around.
Annual family girls trip to south Texas - first stay in Spicewood and we loved it. The house was perfect for our stay and we really enjoyed the big upstairs deck! The view was beautiful and we spent a lot of our time outside visiting. We found the Krause Springs area and the farmer's market that were both fun.
The only thing that was lacking was our Hostess' telephone number. We had a little problem with the garbage disposal and I contacted the person on the number left on our instruction for checking out. That person no longer manages the property, but she was kind enough to help us. We would have asked for an extra half hour or so past check out time, but we managed to get everything out before time. We did have to return to the house after check out to pick up a pillow one of the ladies forgot, and we would have told her about that, too, before just returning to get it, but no phone number.
All and all, it was a great stay and the hostess provided everything we needed. Thanks to our hostess and her staff.
The home was in very good repair and was clean. Furnishings were great. WIFI was not speedy but was adequate for our needs. Never got the satellite TV to work despite numerous back-and-forth communications with property manager (who ultimately stopped responding). Ceiling fan in main bedroom did not work, apparently due to bad battery (unusual size) in remote. That room was uncomfortably warm for sleeping compared to other rooms. Without those two issues, however, we would have rated property five stars.
We had our trip planned for weeks and then a hurricane hit our city a few days before our trip and our home lost power. At the last minute we asked if we could bring our dog and the host said yes. We are very grateful!
