"I’d booked two rooms for two couples - which were very different. I appreciate the property is historic, but one room was very small and cramped with a lowered ceiling. The breakfast was good overall with a lot of choice but just one hot drinks machine for the whole hotel often made for queuing. The restaurant had a good range of dishes which were all delicious and well-made - it was lovely not to have to go out in the evening to find food! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms...

"On arrival Large gravel car park to the rear not great for suitcases with wheels and a £15 per day charge. The hotel reception certainly has that bistro feel the decor and area itself is very well looked after and not tired looking We stayed in the annex which is a 30 second walk from reception our room was called brown brothers …very clean with a comfortable bed and a large tv, iron, hair dryer, free safe, tea and coffee the bathroom was excellent, the shower was superb. "We had a fantastic time in york the hotel was situated close to the centre. Very well organised and all staff were very helpful friendly and polite. The room over looked the carpark and was very clean and warm. Breakfast was served in the dining room which is a great set up and the full english breakfast was excellent. "
