Sooo Relaxing!
Firefly Acres is beautiful, and so peaceful. It is away from noise and city lights, but close enough to a couple of small towns if you care to venture out. The cabin was very clean and quaint. We stayed in the Doghouse, which is a small cabin, but we had everything we needed. I especially enjoyed sitting on the back porch. The view is beautiful. We had our dogs with us, and there was plenty of space to walk them. There is an open pavilion with a fireplace and seating. We spent one evening sitting in front of the fire. The wifi there works well. The hosts were so cordial and helpful. They called us to warn us of bad weather as we were driving in, and they helped guide us there since roads were closed and power lines and trees were down. Anytime we had a question, they were quick to respond. If you are traveling in a large vehicle, be prepared that the parking is parallel on the road. This is not a complaint, just an fyi. Also, If you stay in the Doghouse, there was a dorm fridge there. We brought an ice chest with us to hold anything that wouldn't fit in the fridge, and it worked out fine. One thing we really enjoyed while we were there was taking a quick trip to the Lost Creek Natural Area. It's very close to Firefly Acres, and a very easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. We enjoyed our visit at Firefly Acres, so much that we have already made plans to go back in the fall.
