NEW Construction The "Barn Loft"

The "Barn Loft" designed by owner/builder was recently completed for the 2023 fall season. Located adjacent to the owner's residence in town Southwest Harbor this property is off the street and surrounded by 5 acres of fields, trees, and views of Acadia's western mountains providing the perfect country escape feeling.
Second floor, completely furnished, spacious open concept living area with full kitchen, dining, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Master bedroom with king bed and en suite, guest bedroom with 2 double beds.
Maximum occupancy for 6. Cable, WIFI, heat pump, and deck seating.
It should be noted that due to the second floor location, this property would not be suitable for anyone who cannot manage a lengthy staircase, or for small children as the staircase is open (no door, no gate).
Sorry no pets, and no smoking.
Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, marina, bus route, and minutes away from Acadia National Park, biking, hiking, swimming, fishing, and boating.
This property truly is the perfect escape.
About the host - Wes is a 6th generation Southwest Harbor native whose passion is spending time outside. He and his wife Dawn decided to start their dream project, so, they began with building the barn in 2020. They are very excited to offer the "Barn Loft" in addition to their sister property the "Barn Studio" (downstairs) #2351157. The Barn Studio is a one-bedroom apartment perfect for those traveling with larger families, grandparents or in laws. The Barn Studio is pet friendly (sorry no pets in the Barn Loft).
The couple's love of the outdoors is the inspiration of their project. They want to provide a relaxing place for vacationers to escape and enjoy the beauty of the quiet side of the island and all that Acadia National Park has to offer.

Great long weekend!
Everything about this rental was wonderful. The newly-renovated space--so open and comfortable. We loved being able to walk to restaurants and across the "causeway" to a great hike in Acadia at Flying Mountain. Would definitely stay here again!

MDI marathon weekend
This was the perfect place to stay for our groups MDI marathon weekend. We were super close to the finish line in Southwest Harbor, which is more peaceful than Bar Harbor. Both BH and SWH have plenty of great restaurants and Bar Harbor is only a 15 minute beautiful drive.

Wonderful Vacation Loft
Everything about our stay was great! The loft was exactly as it looked in the photos. It so spacious and comfortable and clean. The bath towels smelled great, the kitchen was well appointed, the outdoor deck a treat. I can be a nervous traveler due to asthma and allergies and the hosts were reassuring and the place great. We had privacy but knew they were available if we had concerns. We would love to return and explore more of Acadia and the area!

Great Week in Acadia
The "Barn Loft" was a GREAT place for 4 of us to spend a week exploring Acadia. It is in a great location and was clean and in wonderful condition. The fire pit on the deck was a nice surprise! Dawn was a wonderful host and very responsive to my questions before we arrived. The check in process was very easy. We will probably be booking again next summer!

Awesome place to stay near Acadia!
This is the place for you if you are looking for quiet and clean, and want to walk to restaurants before and after a day of exploring! We checked in after dark, and the process was seamless! Everything you need to know is in a binder, and the host is nearby if you have questions. We had plenty of room to spread out. The area is walkable and the locals are very friendly. Lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby (10 min walk). You are ~30 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia. We would stay here again!

Awayfrom the craziness of Bar Harbor
This was the perfect location for the 2nd half of our Maine trip. With 2 beds/2baths, there was plenty of room for us to stretch out. P)]We could 】〕【⁹【9⁹⁹ to downtown SW Harbor where there were fun shops and restaurants. It was a lovely 1/2 hour drive to Acadia. We'd happily stay again!

Wonderful experience
Such a beautiful newly remodeled location! Had a lovely deck in the back with a nice view. Everything was clean and neat. An excellent central point for all of our activities on the island. Host was nearby and responded promptly to messages. Would definitely recommend and I hope to stay there again!

A perfect spot
What a wonderful place in a wonderful area. We could not have asked for a better place. Everything was new and very tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed to cook a wonderful meal and have dinner by candlelight at the dining room table. The back porch was an amazing place to hang out and listen to the birds. We got some excellent pictures of them as well. The beds were comfortable. Dawn was very friendly and helpful. Checkin was a breeze. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay
After a difficult year, I needed a getaway for some rest and rejuvenation, and The Loft was the perfect setting for that. Beautifully constructed, clean and comfortable, the space provided the respite I needed. Within minutes to downtown Southwest Harbor and a short drive to Acadia, there were endless activities and adventures to enjoy as well. The hosts were responsive and attentive while not being intrusive. I highly recommend them!

AMAZING
My family of 4 (my husband and I and our two adult children) stayed at the Barn Loft and loved it. It's in a great location near Acadia and a short drive to Bar Harbor. Dawn is an AWESOME host and check in with the key pad was so easy. Everything was spotless-so clean and fresh. The beds were comfortable and having two bathrooms for our family was great. We loved the room darkening shades in the bedrooms since the sun rises so early. Dawn had a binder full of helpful information and recommendations. We ate at a Next Level Sports in Southwest Harbor. We went on a Tuesday so it was open mic night and the music was GREAT. We had good food and listened to the locals sing and play. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely go back on our next trip. I would DEFINTELY stay here again. Very nicely appointed home. Thanks for sharing the Barn Loft with us!

Roomy and beautifully done! The hosts were spot on and friendly . Nice kitchen, deck and clean . Short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor . The little Southwest Harbor town itself around the corner and had a few restaurants and shops to offer . Highly recommend

Perfect get-away
This spot was perfect for our trip. Our destination was Acadia NP, The main park is 30 mins away and a couple of hikes are only minutes away. The town of Bar Harbour is also 30 mins away, so the location was great. The place is quiet, with a beautiful balcony and firepit, the pit ran out of propane and within minutes the owners had it replaced, can't ask for more than that. Everything we needed was supplied, beds were comfy and place was clean. Thanks for the hospitality, would stay here again if ever in the area.

Loved this property and will recommend to family planning to visit Bar Harbor/Acadia! Kitchen was well equipped for basic meals, VERY clean and great amenities (loved the availability of kitchen staples and cleaning supplies). Felt so homey and comfortable! Bonus points for blackout shades in the bedrooms! The host was very helpful and responded quickly during the stay to answer our questions.

A Lovely Getaway
This was one of the best vacation rentals we've booked. It was perfect for our family and we would love to stay at the Barn Loft again. My 3 stars for the listing is because we thought the bedrooms would have AC, but there is only 1 AC unit in the main living area and it was hot the week we were there. It was a quiet area for the most part, but during the middle of the day while our kids were napping, there was a constant shutting of doors from someone working outside. It was quite annoying. They do have quiet hours listed from 10p - 8a, which we appreciated, but felt bad for those below us because we do have 2 toddlers that wake up at 6:30a. We did our best to keep them quiet! Overall, it was a great experience and we hope to stay again in the future!
