Our trip to Southern Pines for a few days visiting family was great with our stay at Golfer's Retreat. The house was clean and comfortable. The beds were fantastic and we slept soundly, minus the one early morning wake up of the train. We knew the location, but didn't realize how great it was to be able to walk to the park and restaurants. Will definitely make this a regular place to stay when we come to town.

We stay here while golfing a number of courses in the area. The house was in great shape and the process was very easy. Its seems like everything was recently renovated. We really enjoyed the back patio in particular.
Great location and easy trip to Carolina horse park
We had a great stay while teens were showing at the Carolina Horse Park. House has everything you need for a stay and great communication from owners. We already plan to be back!
House was nice, Some cleaning and usage issues found
(A&B shared with the owner. Rest discovered after message sent) Information is no longer available on here to do so, or I would have shared this with him first. However, this is honest feedback to hopefully give renters' a better stay.
House was nice. A few things that can/should have been easily done to improve the customer experience.
A) Safety: Discovered all windows on ground level were unlocked.
B) Tables on covered patio were dirty and had cigar ashes and wrappers on them and on the floor.
C) Trash can in main bathroom still had trash in it.
D) Question if carpet in bedrooms were cleaned. None had vacuum tracks on them. Also, a membership card from a prior renter found in plain view near the bed. Not sure how it could have been missed by the cleaning person.
E) Backyard area including the patio near the chairs and inside the firepit was covered in overgrown grass, weeds and some bushes. Therefore, we did not go out to that area and other renters probably would not either. Some also growing up through parts of the deck.
Since there was a cleaning fee, items should have been clean and usable when we got there. A credit would be fair.
Lastly, just be prepared that a train comes through and stops around midnight with the horn blaring off and on for about 5-10 minutes. We knew house was near a track but not that a train would be there at that hour.
With proper property upkeep, I would feel it was worth the charged cleaning fee and a higher rating to stay.
Really good location just by downtown and the quite shops. Property was nice and on a quiet street. Plenty of room inside and the backyard was setup nicely to hangout and relax.
Another plus is that it's a short walk to the public free EV charger as the faster paid charges. It was nice charging before departing.
