Nestled in a small close near the river Hamble, it's a perfect space for relaxing, exploring everything Hampshire has to offer, and a great house for crew who love to sail and need to chill before the next race. Make a cup of tea in the morning-stroll to the river, it will still be hot when you get there, it's that close. Have a great meal in one of the many places in the village-stroll back, it's peaceful. (Same day arrival? - please enquire)
The space
All on one level, with great gardens. The drive can take two cars, or a car and a small boat trailer.
You have broadband (wireless) and BT TV (you view), and a bluetooth sound bar system and sub woofer that you can link to you own phone/device to play your favourite tunes.
The kitchen is well equipped for creating that perfect meal should you not want to venture into the village or maybe invite friends or family around for drinks and canapés or even dinner. There is a double oven and also a combination oven -Microwave plus Dishwasher, Fridge, Freezer, Washing Machine, Toaster, hand blender, bamboo steamer and a plethora of pots and pans, and enough crockery and cutlery for 10 people, along with many roasting and serving dishes - whether mains or deserts. There are also USB charging points in the kitchen.
All the beds are pocket sprung mattresses with memory toppers, finished off with beautiful cotton bedding..... each bed is single (which you can push together if you want to cosy up!) but each has it's own double duvet - lovely. Each guest also has their own USB hub with 3 pin electric plug extensions.
The bathroom is a bath, with over head shower, with a choice of Mains or Electric Shower, it also has a shaver socket and a Braun toothbrush charger.
The gardens offer a cozy outside dining space and there is a rotary line available which can be erected when you need it, and taken down when you entertain. The garden has herbs, all year round are Bay, Rosemary, Thyme, Marjoram and Sage, and seasonally are Chives, Mint, Parsley and Lemon Verbena which you are welcome to pick.
There are many, many great places to eat all within walking distance, and of course, if you are a Sailor - all the Hamble sailing/yacht Clubs are also walkable - Mercury Marina, Port Hamble Marina, RAF Yacht Club, Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble River Sailing Club and furthest away but still walkable, Hamble Point Marina.
We can also send you contacts should you wish to take a night off and stay in and have the pleasure of a Private Chef spoil you. Our Chefs can also deliver dinner and leave you to it.
******Note on reviews, anything pre covid is for our Cottage in Wales that was in our family for 250 years that we no longer own, but maintained 4* grading for 18 years - we hope to have brought our love and experience for looking after guests here to you in Hamble that just want the place to yourselves x ***
Guest access
The house is yours. Keypad key retrieval and return.
Other things to note
** AirBnB are updating their settings in Jan 24 - The nightly price you will see, is not what the host charges, but has been inflated to include their charges for processing your booking EG, For a host charging £154 per night, you will see £176, which looks like the host has increased the price, please be assured we keep prices as low as we can and this is AirBnB's way of camouflaging their fees to you**
On departure as we are Self Catering and not Serviced, it's straightforward - Vacate by 11am, clean up after yourself, put used towels in the bath, put out rubbish and recycling in the provided areas. that's it in a nutshell :-)
We have provided a checklist at Quarters should you need further explanation.
There is an annexe which has no interaction with the house, no access to the garden, no views of the garden and no use of the drive. This is the service area, which may or may not be occupied during your stay.
