A wonderful place, we will definitely come back!
We really like this place; its wonderful! Upon arrival, we found it nice and clean. Our lockbox checkin was smooth. It’s a really nice place; everything is very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The hot tub was ready to go. We would definitely come back. The photos are accurate. The couches and beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked with many pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, and silverware, and plent of other dodads. We did make use of the pyrex food storage containers we brought, so we could use them to warm up leftovers, as we did all of our own cooking for every meal. The hot tub is fairly new, sparkling clean, and ready to use upon arrival. The shower water pressure is excellent. It seems like an older home, and yet everything was in perfect working order and nice and clean. The lights don’t brighten up the living room as much as some might like, so I would only suggest maybe they add some brighter ceiling lights. There were many soft towels: 4 per person… can’t beat that! Wall decorations added to the very cozy feeling. Whoever decorated did a very nice job. The location is really nice. We biked the path to Pope and Jameson beaches. We took kayaks from Jameson beach to Baldwin Beach (marsh is closed to kayaks this year). We biked to Valhalla and Tallac (parts of Tallac are closed). We made a reservation at the horse corral and had a lovely ride! We went to Fallen Leaf Lake for deep shade on the hot days. We always find our way to the Camp Richardson Icecream Shop, about 10 feet from the bike path. One thing to be aware of is that while Lukins Way is a nice quiet street, the backyard is on a much busier and noisier street with regular loud traffic and some loud street maintenance sometimes. This makes the backyard a little less relaxing, but it all quieted down by the time we wanted the hot tub each evening. In the meadow just a short walk west of the home, we saw a bear! That meadow also has a tire swing. So many bunnies, squirrels and chipmonks! We also saw many woodpeckers, stellar jays, robins, Canadian geese, blackbirds, crows, gulls, magpies, chickadees, margansers, a tanager, and 2 osprey! So many wildflowers: fields of lupine and mule’s ear. Tons of columbine, pussypaws, sierran woodbeauty, yarrow, snow plant, warrior’s plume, stickseed, penstemon, wild rose, and allium; a photographer’s dream. We would definitely come back; we had a wonderful stay here.

Just what we needed!
We had an excellent time staying at this property- It was exceptionally clean (important in post COVID world) and stocked with fresh towels and linens by the properties housekeeper, Marta. Huge props to her. Can confirm that the hot tub is excellent, was definitely great to come “home” to after exploring the Tahoe area during the day. My only advisement would be- If you’re planning on cooking, make sure you buy everything you’ll need, as the fridge comes empty and the in-house seasonings are pretty light. The appliances and cookware work just fine otherwise! We really enjoyed grilling in the backyard.

Cute place! But the owners can do better.
The cabin itself was adorable. Plenty of space for me and my two friends, loved the backyard deck, hot tub, barbecue and the rooms! Centrally located so there's easy access to grocery stores, freeway, the casinos and heavenly shopping center and lots of good places to eat and drink. While the property manager employees were nice enough on the phone the customer service was still an issue. One of our first nights there, a technician shows up unannounced following up on service call to check on the satellite connection made by either the owners or the property manager but we had just walked through the door from a long day and didn't want someone tinkering around when we wanted to sleep. We found this odd that no one informed us of this in advance, so we just asked that he contact the property manager and arrange to come back another time. The next irritating issue was that the owners arranged for a new refrigerator be delivered during our stay, which made for a SECOND disturbance. The property manager at least called to let us know about that one but we're private people that really didn't want to be bothered but apparently the owners can't plan ahead to have maintenance and deliveries scheduled without occupants being there. Just wasn't the experience that we wanted.

Cabin
This cabin is probably better for a winter ski rental than summer. Very little natural light in the downstairs, the yard is just dust, and the back porch is pushed up very close to the neighbors who have two big dogs. The carpet needs replacing and the overall feel of the house is tired. I could see the value though in terms of the hot tub and fireplace in winter and when you don’t want to be outside in the yard because it’s covered in snow. Probably better places though in terms of value.

Nice cabin!
We had almost everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Close to everything! The one thing that needed improvement was the cleaning. We found feminine hygiene items on the floor by the bed, wrappers and twist ties under the TV and no cleaning supplies what so ever. I like to keep the places clean I stay in and we had to purchase countertop cleaner and disinfecting wipes. We enjoyed the hot tub and the TV’s all worked well. We will rent from vacasa again but maybe a one story as the stairs were very steep.

Relaxing retreat
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house has everything you need for a relaxing getaway, especially if you bring your pet. Our dog Lily found some fun toys in the house as well plenty of dog bowls and doggie bags. The property manager was very responsive and helpful any time we needed help with something. Would recommend this place for families or a friends getaway.

Checks all the boxes
Vacasa was very informative and easy to get in touch with at all times. Keypad entry was convenient. Home was spotless. Fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Beds and couches were very comfy. Hot tub was higher-end, seemingly new, and plenty spacious for 4. We thought heat may be a concern with just the gas fireplace in the living room but it was actually perfect and didn't even use the multiple space heaters provided. Would absolutely recommend staying in this home!

More Rustic Than Expected
This house is probably 50+ years old and it shows. Worn paint, very squeaky floors (especially upstairs), limited electrical outlets. It was adequately updated in all crucial areas. Bathroom and kitchen had reasonably current fixtures and appliances although even those were far from new. Excellent, roomy shower. Living room furniture is modern and comfortable with a huge TV. Beds were comfortable with a nice TV in each room. The hot tub was the highlight for us...modern, clean and a pleasure to use. Neighborhood was quiet and safe.

Nice Location, Not Too Cozy Cabin
It was clean, but not super comfortable. The couches were covered with fabric that you would find on patio furniture and the beds were uncomfortable. The hot tub was clean though. It looks like it was new. This place is ok to come to between adventures around the area. I do not recommend this place if you plan on relaxing in the cabin a lot. The location was nice for outdoor activity but a little too far to enjoy the casinos and shopping.

Clean out front, kind of gross inside. Hot tub was cold, TONS of dog poop.
If that title doesnt tell you everything you need to know, allow me to go into the details. A group of us had rented the cabin as we were passing through south Lake Tahoe with our dog and wanted a hot tub. We found this 'dog friendly with private hot tub' and figured it was perfect. However.... We arrived a little after 4 pm to find the house cleaner there who said they needed more time to get the place ready and to come back in an hour. OK, fine, lets just get something to eat.... When we came back our first impression was that the cabin was cute enough, it was freezing cold but cute enough. The second impression however was the carpet still had yet to be vacuumed and there was crap all over it.. Not a big deal, but ok lets look closer, theres a huge sticky mess in the middle of the coffee table with hair in it (gross). The glasses in the cupboard are super sticky, theres white stuff all over the TV and there is someones old gum stuck to a jar in the spice cabinet! Whatever, we said, not gonna let that ruin our night, lets just get in the tub... But wait, its only 68 degrees! Cant figure out how to turn it up, so i call the number in the information book. They said their company doesnt own or manage the address i am renting, strange. So i call a different number on a different sign next to the TV. I explain the situation, they said they will alert local management and they will get in touch with me... That didnt happen so i called back, got a different person and went through the whole claim again. This time the hot tub tech showed up about a half hour later, thank god.. The tub was locked so we couldnt turn it up, he unlocked it for us, but it took until morning to get hot. Had to check out at 11 so it wasnt really worth it. We also woke up in the middle of the night and the thermostat had shut itself off. It had taken three hours for the place to warm up to 69 degrees, but in the middle of the night it had turned off and was 50 degrees in the house. I had to turn it off and back on again manually to make it work. No one from management has returned my call yet requesting a rebate, its been 3 days.. Oh and by the way, the back yard was so full of dog poop you could walk in it... Hope that helps... I also hope that whoever manages the property would bother to get in touch with me, I dont like writing scathing reviews, but I didnt really have a choice did I?

Disappointing experience during our Stay at this property
Pros: This property is a cute decent sized house located close to most of the attractions in around South Lake Tahoe. Other than that, our experience at this property was horrible. We checked in on Friday late afternoon and had plans to go around the place in the morning the next day. This property was not properly maintained as it had a major plumbing issue(leakage) with the only shower that this property has. With leakage, I dont mean drop by drop leakage seeping through the ceiling, It was actually like a downpour. I have a video of it to provide some more perspective. This ruined our vacation plans as all we did on Saturday was to call the management company to get it fixed, with calls going to voicemails and then we had to wait for the management company to call us back (Mind you South Lake Tahoe doesn't have good cellphone coverage) which made it even more difficult to communicate. So overall we were in South Lake Tahoe on vacation where we paid so much money from our pocket to end up getting things fixed in the property(which was no use to us). The property management company relocated us to another property eventually by late afternoon(around 5 PM) on Saturday which was not much of a saver, as we had plans to check out next morning on Sunday. I expect the property management company to provide me with some refund for the inconvenience caused and time wasted with no fault of mine. I have checked out today from the makeshift arrangement that was provided and no one has contacted me for any update on refund status so far. I know things break and may be I was unlucky, but I expect more prompt followup in terms of how these incidents are managed, as I should not be following up(for refund) for no fault of mine.

Great location, clean, & cozy!
Great location. Close to the lake & close drive to the ski resort. The place was clean & had all the necessities needed for our stay. The hot tub was clean & beds were comfortable. My only suggestion for this place is that they have more blankets available since there is only one heating source (the fireplace) and maybe add a crockpot for easy cooking. I packed easy meals for a crockpot only to find there wasn't one. However I was able to improvise with the other cooking supplies available:)

Cozy and dog friendly was a plus. Cabin had everything we needed.
The house was cozy. Towels, linens, cooking essentials, and even a comical collection of cassette and VHS tapes were available to guests. We even found that there were books and some toys for younger visitors. There were placards throughout that explained where items were and how to take care of the home before and after our stay. Sadly it looked like previous guests may not have cleaned up after themselves, leaving some trash and cigarette butts around the property. There was a vacuum which came in handy before we checked out. The street is quiet and allowed us to walk our dog daily with no problems. One of the light fixtures had burnt out and there was a maintenance man on site not too long after we checked in to replace it. I did find some socks left behind one of the doors in the master bedroom and a questionable stain on the mattress. Just before check out it seemed that a pipe may have burst from the master shower that was leaking into the wash room. We called management to alert them and contented on our way. Overall, if you're looking for a place close to the slopes and have a fur baby, this place is worth checking out.
