Charming 3 bedroom cottage on Jose Lake in South Branch, 9 miles from Hale and 1 mile from the Au Sable River. 78 feet of water frontage on 129 acre all sports Jose Lake. We have a small sandy beach, a dock and a fire pit on the property. Rental includes 2 kayaks. The third bedroom shares with laundry and entry, not really a bedroom in the sense of privacy but does have two twin size beds. Jose lake is an all sports lake with good fishing. The cabin located on the very quiet northern end of the lake (not where google map shows) at the corner of Cedar and Nicole. It is also 15 minutes from Largo Springs, Lumberman's Monument, and the sand bluff. Whether you are looking to fish off the dock, just lounge around and cook over the fire or explore the area on a hiking expedition, this place has all that you are looking for on your getaway. Come explore the hidden gem of South Branch Michigan and relax. The real world will be there when you return.

Amazing lakehouse weekend
This place was exactly what we were looking for. Our nephew had a blast playing in the lake and just enjoying the area. Everyone we talked were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved the covered back deck! It was a great place to eat and hang out. Cabin was comfortable, living room spacious and met our needs. Outside was quiet and lake was peaceful. A couple things that would enhance the guest experience would be a new shed where new outdoor furniture could be stored so it would be clean, a rack for storing kayaks so they would be clean and not full of water, and 20 hangers in each closet so guests can hang their coats and clothes. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Nice cottage, great fishing!
Enjoyed our stay very much. Nice little cottage and great fishing. Paddle boat worked great to fish. Caught three large bass and many smaller fish. Quiet area, owner was very responsive! Neighbors were soooo nice!

This was our second time staying here and we loved it once again! The lake is just beautiful! We seen and caught lots of blue gills and bass! Cabin had everything we needed and was super cozy! We will be back next spring!

This was a great experience! The fishing was fantastic, the lake was beautiful, and the cabin was everything we hoped it would be. Took the paddle boat out and did some trolling around the lake. We had a blast! Thank you Tim and Nancy!

This property is absolutely excellent. Beautiful area, excellent amenities in the home, and good environment. My only hesitation in recommending someone to book this property would be in hopes of keeping the dates open for myself. I loved it and hope I can return in the future.

We really enjoy the cabin we loved the kyaks and pontoon boat. This year was a bit stressful my best friend of 45 years passed away the day of this trip she is out of state but I was dealing with a lot of heavy grief hoping no one heard me crying or yelling that’s not common place for me ever but the circumstances were difficult this time. We always try to clean up good and leave good reviews it’s really nice and peaceful here one of my favorite places. Hoping I can get it for my birthday next year.

Post 7/4 Getaway!!
Renting the property was quick and easy. The setting was wonderful with all the mature trees right on the lake. The firepit was great for cooking outside. The sandy beach was great from early morning til late in the evening. The fish right off the dock was exceptional. Sat outside rain and sunshine. We had no bugs. Very quiet neighborhood. The boats and kayaks were ours on even days. They are shared with another cottage but we had plenty to do. Great experience and will go back again

Peaceful few days in great location
My wife and I planned to do some biking and hiking in Tawas and Grayling areas. This was a great spot to get to both areas. The place was clean and well-equipped. Tim and Nancy were terrific at communicating and answering questions. The place has a lot of little things to make the stay more comfortable. We were there on a record high temperature day and slept just fine with the window AC. View from the porch and the boats were very enjoyable. Close to Iargo Springs (which everyone should visit at least once in their life) and spectacular views of and access to Au Sable river. We enjoyed everything about our stay.

A beautiful lake with everything we wanted and everything you could need! We enjoyed the back porch, kayaks, paddle boat, barbecue, bonfire, and even Netflix! The water is so nice, not weedy. A quiet spot with kind neighbors.

We had a terrific time! Our kids had such a blast on the beach and using the kayaks!! The deck overlooking the lake was great for relaxing! My husband and son caught a few fish right off the dock. So many things to do! The cabin was spacious, clean and had everything you might need! Tim and Nancy were amazing hosts! We couldn’t have had a better experience.

Communication with the owners was great. The cabin was perfect for what we needed. They are in the process of doing some needed renovations but the cabin was still 100% usable for us. My kids and their friends had a wonderful time on the Kayaks and jumping off the dock. The beach area was fantastic. The firepit was great! We truly enjoyed the back porch sitting area. The bedrooms were nice and perfect size. The living room was great and spacious! Lots of sitting room. Loved that there was a full kitchen and also full laundry availability! It made it so nice to be able to do laundry and come home with clean clothes and not bags full of dirty clothes! My kids have already asked when we can go back!

Relaxation at it's best!
Had a good girl’s weekend. Quite and relaxing. The water is beautiful and the house had everything we needed. The neighbors were extremely friendly but there is Plenty of privacy and it's extremely peaceful. Just a beautiful setting, Tim & Nancy are wonderful people to rent from. We'll definitely be back.

Great place with fun fishing off the dock
Great place with everything you need! My son loved the bear themed décor and plenty of room for us inside and out. We spent most of our time fishing off the dock which was a blast! The easiest fishing we have ever done, catching one right after another with adult and kid poles. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very responsive.
