As others have reviewed, the driveway up to the house is quite the adventure. Steep and bumpy, but nothing to be scared of. This is the last house on the driveway, at the top of the hill, with outstanding views. The rough ride is the price to be paid.
The house is beautiful. Gorgeous tile throughout. A nice, well equipped kitchen made preparing breakfast easy. It had all the needed small appliances and pots, pans, utensils, etc. Note that groceries are not easy to come by in Soufriere. Their best 'grocery' store is small and lacks much selection and required quite a bit of creativity to make what they offer into meals. We learned that the Massy store in Vieux Fort is much better and a must stop for gathering real meal ingredients.
The house is open air with good screens and even additional bug netting around the beds. We did not have any issue with bugs in the house, and really enjoyed the wonderful outdoor temps making their way through the house with the breezes that frequent the hill top location.
The pool was glorious. After a day enjoying the beach, and salt water, the fresh water pool was very welcomed. The grounds are kept up beautifully.
The host was very accommodating with anything we needed, meeting us in town when we first arrived, (we had rented a car) and showed us to the place and made sure we had everything we needed.
The thing that made this place over the top is that it is owned by the Anse Chastenet & Jade Mountain resort and included access to all of their amenities, and there are a lot of them.
We explored the entire island, driving the highways, and came to the conclusion that this is the nicest area on the island. Having a private house gave us the space we wanted, but the relationship with the resort gave us access to all of the great things to do - snorkeling, beach huts, good restaurants, sailing, and much more.
