Villa Atabeyra - St Lucian Hillside Escape with Stunning Ocean and Piton Views

Villa Atabeyra is the epitome of a Caribbean hillside escape. The property overlooks the calm Caribbean sea with St Lucia's iconic Piton mountains within view. The villa features a pool and blends seamlessly with the flora of it's quiet surroundings. We are a Covid-19 certified accommodation.

Soak in the stunning scenery that is St Lucia's west coast. The villa has one of the best and most coveted views of properties on the island, all the while providing a truly St Lucian feel on the inside and out with the necessities of home. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, dining area and kitchen. Two rooms have king beds and the other has two double beds.

The villa rests atop a lush hillside leading about a 1 mile from the town of Soufriere and is accessible by car. We recommend that you let us help you get to the villa (whether you are in a rental or in a taxi).

The villa is in a private residential area so non-local taxi drivers may not be familiar with the area. We are more than willing to help arrange transportation to the property. Please let us know of you travel plans and we will accommodate you.

15 minutes away is the scenic town of Soufriere where some of St Lucia's famous sights such as the Piton Mountains and Sulphur Springs can be found. 5 minutes in the other direction is the pristine, black sand Anse Chastanet Beach. If you are looking to dive/snorkel; one of St Lucia's highly sort after spots is the Anse Chastanet Reef right off the beach.

This beach is home to Anse Chastanet Resort and some of the best restaurants in the area such as Apsara; an innovative fusion of modern East Indian and Caribbean cooking, a celebration of St Lucia's historical and cultural ties with East India. If relaxation is key nearby Kai Belte Spa is a must.

For the adventurous neighbouring Anse Mamin Beach is home to Bike St Lucia and Kayak St Lucia. There is 8 miles of bike trails making for an amazing jungle biking adventure. There you can enjoy trails catered to all experience levels from novice to expert. Bird-watching/hiking is popular in this area teeming with lush tropical forest and colonial ruins taking you back into some of St Lucia's colonial past.

We have a special arrangement with Anse Chastanet Resort staff to extend certain courtesies to villa residents. We are happy to help you arrange reservations, excursions transportation and more during your stay at the villa. Do not hesitate to contact us so that we can help make your stay memorable.

Amazing property in secluded location with stunning views across to the Pitons, and beyond
We stayed at Villa Atabeyra for 2 weeks just prior to Christmas 2023. The booking and check-in processes were both straightforward, and we were really grateful, after our long journey to get there, to meet up with Jonathan (the property manager) in Soufrière, who then guided us up to the villa and took time to show us around the property as well. It was very thoughtful to have some basic supplies already in place, and we particularly appreciated the generous supply of cold beer left for us in the fridge ! The gravel road to the property is quite steep and twisty in places, and we would endorse the recommendations of previous guests of hiring a 4x4 vehicle to make the journey easier (and safer). The villa has a tie-in with the nearby Anse Chastanet resort, which was useful for dining (both lunch and dinner) as well allowing access to their excellent facilities/beaches. It is certainly one of the best holidays we have ever had, not least for the property's most amazing location. Thank you to Jonathan, and all of his friendly team !

Honeymoon perfection
The property is in a stunning location, with unparalleled views of the Pitons. Since it is connected to Anse Chastanet, you have access to all dining and beach amenities. The people we interacted with (in particular, Jonathan Baptiste our property manager and Wayne our driver) added so much to our experience. My wife and I have already begun planning our return and want to bring people with us to share in the experience. One item of note is that the drive from Soufriere to the villa is not for the faint of heart…a very rocky and steep climb…it allows for a lot of privacy as the road less traveled, but we would recommend letting the experts drive, especially after a few cocktails at dinner. To experience West Indian cuisine, Apsara can’t be beat. Our next visit will include a stop at a grocery in Soufriere so we can take full advantage of the kitchen for a dinner or two. The pool is very refreshing, and with the fans and mountain breezes, the evenings were quite comfortable. 5 stars is not enough!!!

Lovely villa
The villa was as described and we had a wonderful stay. Jonathan was very responsive and helpful when needed and Abi the housekeeper was meticulous in keeping the villa very clean and tidy - we travel frequently to St Lucia and have stayed in many villas and Abi is the best! The kitchen is very well equipped and stocked with coffee etc..and other basic items. The owners kindly left welcome drinks and access to the facilities at Anse Chastanet resort is a great bonus. A few constructive comments which I hope the -owners /prospective guests may find useful. There is one bathroom shared between the downstairs and upstairs bedrooms - as a family of six this was a little limiting in that the couple staying upstairs had to share with the couple downstairs becoming somewhat busy at times and also meant a trip downstairs to use the toilet if staying in the upstairs bedroom. The pool requires some maintenance as there are areas where the tiling /pool floor is damaged and sun parasols would be very welcome as there is no shade when lounging on the sun beds located poolside.

Fantastic View, Crazy Drive
We recently enjoyed a stay here. The view of the Pitons from the villa is incredible, but drive to get there is equally incredible. From previous reviews, we knew it was a bumpy ride, but I don't think we were quite prepared for the steepness, narrowness or bumps of the road scattered with switchbacks and hair pin turns. It was worth it once you made it to the top, but is not for the faint of heart. The house had all we needed and a nice breeze throughout. There is no air conditioning, but it had ceiling fans which were enough to keep it comfortable. The villa manager Jonathan met us at the base of the peak and we followed him up which was very helpful the first time going up. You definitely need a 4-wheel vehicle with a lot of clearance. One bonus we did not fully appreciate when we booked was that this villa is a part of Anse Chastenet Resort so you get all the benefits of that. Half of us went scuba diving and half grabbed a beach hut and lounge chairs for the day. The food and drinks at the beach were excellent and it was very relaxing. We enjoyed a short walk and lunch at Anse Mamin beach as well. All and all, it was a great stay.

Beautiful Property With Resort Amenities
Our stay at Villa Atabeyra was absolutely amazing! I will admit that after the first drive up to the property I was a little hesitant on how things would go but we were so glad we rented a vehicle and we did adjust to the road after a couple trips up and down. The kitchen is well stocked, the owner has welcome gifts of Lucian Rum and cold wine in the refrigerator upon arrival. Housekeeping came twice during our week and did a wonderful job tidying up. Security is onsight in the small villa next to Atabeyra, so we always felt safe. Johnathan was so kind to us during our stay, bringing us ice from the resort and arranging dinner for us almost every night. We had one issue with the water pump going out and Johnathan stayed onsight with us until it was fixed, he even offered us a room at Anse Chastanet to shower for the evening and free dinner however, we turned it down because we really didn’t feel put out by the temporary issue. Before we knew it all was fixed and water was restored to the house. He did end up comping a dinner off of our bill when we checked out of the house. The best thing about Villa Atabeyra is that it is tied to Anse Chastanet resort and resort amenities are offered to guests staying at Villa Atabeyra. This was the best part of our stay. All the staff at Anse Chastanet knew who we were and treated us with so much kindness. We never had a bad meal while we were there. They even had us open up a line of credit so we could book excursions through the resort and shop the boutiques. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! The photos do not do the property any justice. The views are just spectacular! Morning coffee from the patio will be missed!!

Amazing property!
My husband and I stayed at Villa Atabeyra for the latter part of our honeymoon and we completely fell in love with it. As other reviews mention, the road up to the villa is no joke and very steep and bumpy. But, it is worth it for the views and privacy. There is a security guard that manages the gate each night, which gave us peace of mind. The views are exactly as they are in the pictures - truly breathtaking.

Wonderful Time at Villa Atabeyra!
The Villa Atabeyra was absolutely amazing! The views of the Piton Mountains and the sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean from the patio and pool deck are truly incredible. The pictures in the property listing are beautiful but they don’t (can’t) do it justice! My wife and I could have spent the entire vacation just sitting there on the patio living the view! The Villa Atabeyra is well appointed and comes with pretty much everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The large screened and louvered doors and windows throughout the villa offered amazing views from almost any location and paired with the constant ocean breeze to keep everyone cool and comfortable at night. The property manager, Jonathan, was great to work with and the villa staff was wonderful. Having access to the Anse Chastanet resort amenities was a huge plus. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and live music at the beachfront restaurant our first night there. The family had a blast snorkeling off the end of the pier on Anse Chastanet Beach. The short walk north up to Anse Mamin Beach was well worth the trek. The beach was beautiful and not at all crowded. Johnathan was not joking… the Anse Mamin Beach Grill does have the best burgers on the island! For us, the Villa Atabeyra offered the perfect blend of ‘self-guided adventure’ while still being in close proximity to the town of Soufriere, a world-class resort and beautiful beaches. We had a wonderful time and we are definitely looking forward to being able to visit again in the future. Thank you, Karolin, Jonathan and team, for a wonderful experience!

Perfect location for stunning view
This spacious house is the perfect place to appreciate the ever-changing view of the Pitons, the iconic landmarks of St. Lucia. VRBO pictures are very accurate but can't quite capture the full impact of the vista. Amazing. The house is designed for maximum air flow and offers plenty of space indoors and out. The covered porch is a great spot for afternoon relaxation and the large pool is beautiful as well as the ideal location to use the underwater step along the edge to gaze out at the Pitons with a cold Piton beer in hand. Comfortable beds, a well appointed kitchen and thoughtful amenities for guests. Jonathan provided exceptional service and communication throughout our stay, and it's a real plus to be able to access the facilities and beach at nearby Anse Chastanet. Overall one of most enjoyable visits to St. Lucia.

Beautiful House & Incredible View
Absolutely stunning property! The views are to die for!! Jonathan was wonderful as well as the housekeepers!! The kitchen has everything you need and the house is also stocked with extras just in case you forgot any incidentals. Initially access to Anse Chastanet is one of the main reasons we decided on this house. Having access to the restaurants was a huge benefit for us. Also Jonathan coordinated our return home COVID testing which was so helpful. You can also have the house stocked before you get there but we chose to go into town and go to the new grocery store. The store is pretty well stocked. We absolutely LOVED everything about Villa Ataberya and St Lucia in general. The people are so friendly and smiling and wanting to help! We also went scuba diving daily at Scuba St Lucia. We were glad that we rented a car because the trip down from the house would take a pretty good walk down and going back would be a LONG uphill. The roads are most like a 4wheel drive trail and we are glad our car was a 4 wheel drive. By the end of the trip we were used to the drive! We cannot wait to come back to St Lucia and will definitely choose this beautiful house to come back to!!

A Blissful Retreat
Our family of four spent a delightful week at the Villa. The views of the Pitons were magical! Well worth the rather harrowing drive uphill, which we soon got accustomed to. The Villa was spacious, airy, and very comfortable. The pool was larger than I had imagined it would be and offered refreshing swims. Birdwatching at the Villa was outstanding, and my daughter and I loved doing yoga on the patio, gazing at the Pitons. Having access to Anse Chastenet was a huge benefit, and the scuba and snorkeling directly from the beach was excellent. Many thanks to Karolin, Jonathan, and the staff of the Villa and resort. We hope to return to this special place!

Breathtaking, spacious, private, secure, well maintained, breezes, stars, adventure in paradise🌴
If your idea of the perfect vacation is an idyllic mountain retreat with a spectacular view than Villa Atabeyra is perfect for you. The house is situated at the very top of a mountain just outside the town of Soufries with a perfect view of the world famous Pitons. The Villa is well appointed with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. The great room is relaxing and the WiFi and cable television are reliable. The house is not air conditioned, but the breezes are wonderful and you will not be uncomfortable. Outside the grounds are well maintained and the pool is fabulous. Something we didn't expect, was the enjoyment of stargazing by the pool in a location with an absolute absence of light pollution. While at Villa Atabeyra we made day trips to the beach, volcano, mud baths and waterfalls. We snorkeled and dove the reefs of Anse Chastanet and Sugar Beach. Dining we enjoyed the food at Orlando's and the ambiance of Rabot restaurant in the Hotel Chocolat. Can't thank our host enough for doing her best to accommodate our requests despite the restrictions of the Covid pandemic. Shout out to Jonathan for arranging our transportation, dining and excursions. Special thanks to Perry our driver. If your looking for a special place in Soufries, you can't go wrong with Villa Atabeyra. Just book it and tell Jonathan, I sent you.

Villa Atabeyra is Breathtaking. Our stay at the Villa exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend Villa Atabeyra and look forward to returning. The host went over and beyond to assure our stay was unforgettable. The host facilitated everything prior to our arrival and during our stay. Verifying all the paperwork that was required to enter St. Lucia due to Covid-19 was properly submitted and approved. Arranged all transportation needs and scheduled all excursions. The host arranged for groceries to be delivered prior to our arrival. During our stay the host was always in contact with us to make sure we had everything we needed and made trips to the grocery store to restock anything that we needed. Thank you Kimberte. All communication prior to our visit and during our stay was very thorough and prompt. The host and owner of Villa Atabeyra are incredible. Villa Atabeyra is indescribable and the views are extraordinary. Villa Atabeyra gave us a magical unforgettable holiday stay. We cannot thank the owner and the host enough for our experience during our stay in St. Lucia. No need to look any further, book the Villa for your stay.

Our little spot of heaven
We spent 5 beautiful days at Villa Atabeyra in January, 2020. The views are amazing, the house open ad super comfortable. The road...yes a true " adventure," but it gets easier the more you drive it. Ricky, the night security man, was a sweet heart and he made sure to check in with us each evening. The cleaning lady was lovely and always did a great job. The connection with Anse Chatanet is fantastic, we enjoyed both beaches, snorkeling, massages, food & drinks and the most amazing evening at Jade Mountain!Thank you to management at the villa for providing us with complimentary rum, fruit, eggs etc..very thoughtful. Also, the mosquito spray, of which we made good use of.The only negative for us was that we were never able to have a hot shower. The hot water lasted like 2 mins max. Other than that, paradise...simply paradise. The Piton views..wow! The pool with those amazing views!! The incredible display of stars at night...The privacy and comfort of the villa..fantastic. We can't wait to return.

Hilltop Villa
As others have reviewed, the driveway up to the house is quite the adventure. Steep and bumpy, but nothing to be scared of. This is the last house on the driveway, at the top of the hill, with outstanding views. The rough ride is the price to be paid. The house is beautiful. Gorgeous tile throughout. A nice, well equipped kitchen made preparing breakfast easy. It had all the needed small appliances and pots, pans, utensils, etc. Note that groceries are not easy to come by in Soufriere. Their best 'grocery' store is small and lacks much selection and required quite a bit of creativity to make what they offer into meals. We learned that the Massy store in Vieux Fort is much better and a must stop for gathering real meal ingredients. The house is open air with good screens and even additional bug netting around the beds. We did not have any issue with bugs in the house, and really enjoyed the wonderful outdoor temps making their way through the house with the breezes that frequent the hill top location. The pool was glorious. After a day enjoying the beach, and salt water, the fresh water pool was very welcomed. The grounds are kept up beautifully. The host was very accommodating with anything we needed, meeting us in town when we first arrived, (we had rented a car) and showed us to the place and made sure we had everything we needed. The thing that made this place over the top is that it is owned by the Anse Chastenet & Jade Mountain resort and included access to all of their amenities, and there are a lot of them. We explored the entire island, driving the highways, and came to the conclusion that this is the nicest area on the island. Having a private house gave us the space we wanted, but the relationship with the resort gave us access to all of the great things to do - snorkeling, beach huts, good restaurants, sailing, and much more.

Stunning villa and views
The villa itself is just as the pictures depict. The views are simply stunning. I was a little worried that we would miss aircon, as we were visiting in the humid month of July but the design and elevated location meant a cooling breeze at all times, so didn’t miss it at all. All dealing with Charlene were first class and leaving us some basic provisions to get us on our way was a nice touch, even more so the complimentary bottle of rum and wine! The villa was visited twice by a maid during our week the pool also cleaned regularly. All first class, A security guard slept in the grounds overnight but to be honest I never felt the need for him to be there. Some might find it comforting though. Whilst the location is beautifully peaceful ( I heard nothing other than birds and tree frogs during our entire stay) the downside is the road to get to the villa. Well I say road....more like a rocky adventure. I though people were probably exaggerating when it was mentioned in previous reviews but they’re not, It is narrow, unsurfaced and high up. Not for the faint hearted, especially at night! You really do need a 4x4. Finally, the tie-up with the nearby Anse Chastanet was a great benefit, We were able to use their excellent facilities at no cost, a real benefit when you have a young family and it was our favourite beach in the area (discounting the hugely expensive cost of going to Sugar Beach) All in all I would thoroughly recommend staying here

Beautiful Place! An rare opportunity for a lifetime of memories
The previous reviews of this property are very accurate. The communication from the managers Charlenne (before our visit) and Jonathan (while we were there) were very thorough and prompt. Jonathan was very personable and helped us by answering our many questions. He was also helpful and comforting to us when the power went out on our part of the island. The amenities are amazing. They included maid service about every other day, adult beverages and water upon arrival, a well stocked kitchen with coffee and miscellaneous spices, toiletries were supplied if you forgot anything and people taking care of the pool and grounds. The connection with the resort Anse Chastanet put this property in another category! Access to the beach and all the amenities there (chairs, towels, special side of the beach for guests) were awesome. The pictures are true to what you see everyday from the house. The views are extraordinary! What the pictures don't show all the depth and quantity of are the beautiful flowers and fauna surrounding the house and pool. You feel as though you are literally in a tree house in the jungle. If you appreciate nature, this is the house for you! One thing to note however, the house can get warm. We were there at the end of June. Some days were fine with lots of breezes, while others were more still and humid (there were fans that helped a lot). It also rained for short periods most days and that added to the humidity. If you are bothered by the heat(especially at night) and are not into hearing the sounds of nature through the night, this might not be the house for you. However, at times my husband was actually cold at night. The road leading up to the house is exactly what has been described in previous reviews. You are climbing a mountain on a very steep, winding road of varying surfaces, grade with turnbacks. Spend the money and make sure to get a true wheel drive vehicle with transfer case and Low gear. After one time up and down, my husband was able to drive up and down without using the brakes much at all and reduce the time town as he became familiar with the turns and without worries of getting lost. For me - the ride up was uncomfortable at first, but after driving it a few times it got better. This house was an adventure I will never forget! It is worth the drive up and the risk of warm days and nights. It is like no other VRBO place I have ever stayed. Truly amazing!

Caribbean Charm
Our stay at the Villa exceeded expectations in every way possible. Upon arrival at UVF we we're instructed to proceed to resort counter of Anse Chastenet where we were met by a lovely lady with cold scented towels and water while we awaited our pre-arranged driver. Within moments our driver arrived and luggage was loaded into a comfortable and AC cooled SUV. After accommodating us with a few stops to pick up wine, rum and groceries, we arrived at the Villa. What a delightful treat to be greated by Charlene, staff, a lovely Oasis strewn with flowers EVERYWHERE and oh my, that majestic view of the Pitons! We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening just mezmerized by the captivating view while lounging on the veranda with warm Caribbean breezes caressing our winter weary souls. But the most stunning views didn't arrive until well after sunset when the sky began to reveal the brilliance of a zillion stars, moons and planets. As tired as we were from a long day of travel, it was difficult to tear ourselves away from this most amazing peek at the heavens above, the outline of the Pitons and glistening sea below. WOW!!! Everyone, at least once in their lifetime, should have the opportunity to experience such awe inspiring beauty. We feel very blessed to have and hope anyone considering a visit here, does too. Trust Charlene to help orchestrate the kind of experience that dreamy memories are made of. She guided us to the perfect people and places to renew our vows in celebration of 25 years of love and commitment and we couldn't have asked for more. A special shout out to the staff of Anse Chastenet resort who created a Vow Renewel experience beyond our wildest dreams. Roy and I will treasure it always. Thank you.
