"Hostel was all good! Some pretty fancy toilets. It did get a little loud at night in the men's dorm due to the trains every now and then but a couple of ear plugs solved that problem. Great location close to Kagoshima-Chuo and food vendors. Pretty happy with everything given the price I paid."

"I had a great stay at Tomeru Hostel. The location of the hostel is superb, off street enough to be quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to the tram station to access everywhere in town easily. Gotta climb four storeys to reach the dorm but staircases are an every day thing in Japan anyway. It was raining almost daily when I was in Kagoshima, but a variety of umbrellas were provided for our use. I especially loved the subtle light music that was put on every night in the common room. "We stayed in quite a large room but it was pretty basic and half finished as one of the walls was just cement. The owners of the property lives upstairs and you could hear the children running around. The room felt and smelled damp. The bed was a large double but the mattress and pillows were too soft which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The two toilets were clean as were the two showers, one for women and one for men.
