Our Solar Powered property is approached by 1/4 mile of driveway lined with 25+ foot tall cypress trees. This 3bed/2bath home is about 300 feet from our Main Home.
It has a well equipped kitchen, whole house water filter, dining table for 6 people, WiFi, smart TV in living room and comfortable L shaped couch.
Super Comfy beds! King size bed in Master. Queen size in both other bedrooms. All have TV's with cable service.
Darts game. Corn Hole game and Foosball table in the Garage. Walking distance to wineries, 6 bicycles to use at no charge, etc...

Guest Access:
There is a beautiful pond on the property that our guests may enjoy during daylight. It has its own little beach and boat docked on it.
The water fall also acts as an aeration and filtration system for the Fish. ( Blue gill and Catfish,)
** Kids under 12 years of age, only allowed with responsible adult supervision.
** No swimming or entering the pond and boat allowed!

Interaction with Guests:
My wife Hilde and I enjoy a nice chat with our Guests, but will always provide and respect their peace and privacy.

The Neighborhood:
Ballard (Solvang), the center of the Santa Ynez Valley was the first town that settled here in the late 1800's!
Surrounded by vineyards, mountains, horse ranches, farms and schoolhouses, you feel as you have arrived in a time warp of sorts where simple pleasures, mossy oaks, grassy fields, and warm sunny days are found.
We feel so fortunate to live here, closely guard its quiet serenity and are grateful for all the beauty, amenities, world class wineries, restaurants, breweries, and shopping this Valley has to offer.
A Beautiful route to the charming towns of Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Solvang or Buellton takes only 5 to 10 minutes by car or make a loop and enjoy the scenery on our bicycles, provided to you at no charge!

This is a great location on a beautiful and peaceful property with fun amenities for the family and comfortable accommodations. Well stocked kitchen and super clean and comfy beds. This is a great place for a family or for friends to spend time in Santa Ynez.

Great central, but quiet location
The property is beautifully located with lovely views of the countryside and right between Solvang and Los Olivos. The house is very well equipped with everything you need to make meals, comfortable beds and well stocked bathrooms. The host was welcoming and we had a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Property
We celebrated my husband’s 32nd birthday in the Santa Ynez Valley. This was a wonderful place to stay while enjoying wine country. My toddler loved the property and exploring the pond. I would definitely stay here again.

Awesome place to relax in open space
We were there for a weekend wedding, and our schedule was full for all three days. We did not get chance to enjoy the place. But it is a great place to stay with family and friend and relax next to vineyard. Beds were firm and comfortable (important for me), everything were clean and organized. Definitely I will book again to enjoy without rushing in and out. Rahim

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. Located hilltop with a great view. Quiet and private, yet within 5-10 minutes of wineries, stores etc. Home had everything you needed for your stay. The owner Kris was great to work with. Would definitely stay and highly recommend to others.

Life in wine country
If you ever wanted to get a sense of what it is like to live in wine country, this is the place. The views are beautiful. It's quiet, private, and a great house - love the open layout with the kitchen and living room. In the late afternoon/sunset time, we would relax on the back patio. There are some nice amenities as well. Highly recommend!

Always a wonderful stay in an excellent location!
This is our third time staying at Kris and Hilde's and it was as nice as the previous two times. Since we didn't go to any restaurants we really appreciated the lovely kitchen and the outdoor grill (and the handy market right down the road). The house was pristine and more than met all of our needs. We look forward to our next visit!

Had another delightful trip. Loved staying in this VRBO rental. It was very clean & the owner was most helpful. It is perfectly located close to our favorite vineyards in Santa Ynez & Los Olivos. We look forward to staying there again in the near future.

Wine country home away from home
We were so pleased with this property. The location is convenient to Santa Ynez, Solvang, and Los Olivos, making it easy to explore and easy to get back to rest between activities. The house is perfectly appointed, and the back yard is so peaceful. Great stargazing, too! I will definitely be back.
