The cabin location was Awesome! We saw moose around the cabin on 3 different occasions. The cabin had a lot of beds to accommodate big families. Our kids enjoyed the smores that the host gave us!
Great cabin and very helpful host! Everything was clean and ready to go.
My family came to Soldatna for an 80th birthday with dad and a fishing adventure. The cabin was perfect for our group and our host “Grandma” was great. She was helpful providing extras and giving us so local fishing spots to consider. It was a great trip and we really loved the cabin!!
Everything was awesome. Property very clean. Close fishing and hiking trails. Very spacious there was only 3 of us so had alot room to spread out. Would highly recommend.
Communication was great from the start. We needed freezer space and were provided a large chest freezer that held over 300# of fish. The host was very gracious and the house had everything we needed. We will definitely come back.
We had a large family gathering from across the country (Texas, North Dakota, Colorado and Anchorage), as well as many of our local family members. This property was fantastic, large open spaces, lots of bedding, and owner was fantastic and always asking if there was anything we needed. Loved this log home, lots of room for entertaining and for kids to run around! Will definitely stay here again if we ever need this much room again for family. Thank you!
Perfect location; friendly and accommodating owners.
Property is in a beautiful setting, within walking distance of some great fishing on the Kenai river. It's far enough away from town to provide for some quiet, relaxing downtime, yet close enough to town for easy shopping and dining. The hot tub was an added benefit after some long days of fishing. The owners went out of their way to accommodate us, including provision of fishing gear and freezer storage space. They even cooked up some of their favorite dishes for us to sample. They were the most gracious of hosts!
We had a wonderful stay but there was no check-out guidance given to us. would have been nice to have been provided a little assistance with how to optimally leave.
My family come from three different states for an Alaskan wedding/family reunion. Grandma was so welcoming and hospitable. We wanted for nothing and Grandma even had some foresight for us and got us things we didn't even think of (like a marker and packing tape for our fish boxes) we were in a bind and didn't realize how much fish we had and we were able to use her giant freezer to ensure our fish was going to make it home with us. She is such a wonderful host, not only did she anticipate our needs but she was so knowledgeable about the area. She took care of the hot tub daily making sure we would be able to use it each night after our long, fun days. The fire pit and wood was wonderful to use and the house was so clean! My own grandmother would approve of the cleanliness. I can't stress enough how welcoming and friendly Grandma is. She was not imposing by any means and you knew she was there to help if you needed any thing. She earned her name and definitely felt like part of the family by the end of the trip. We would definitely stay here again and strongly recommend this house and host.

Not a home away from home
The location of this home was very beautiful and convenient. I don’t ever leave bad reviews because I feel like everyone’s experience is different but I feel like I could help make this place a better experience for someone else if I leave a review. I feel like an VRBO should be a home away from home. We have stayed at many VRBOs over the years and they usually always have all the basics. We had to ask manager for many things. There was nothing complimentary in the bathrooms. Not even a small bar of soap. We woke up and went to make coffee and had no filters for coffee pot. I messaged the manager and she brought some over. She also brought over some open bars of soap in a ziplock back. It didn’t feel very sanitary. Hot tub was advertised but was not working; didn’t find this out week before our vacation. Dishwasher was broken. Property manager is very nice and kind but we didn’t feel like we had any privacy. We were just waking up and it was a couple hours before checkout and property manager was out on patio. BBQ was nasty looking so we passed on trying to use that to cook our fish. The fire pit was the highlight of this place and where we hung out. They provided firewood which was awesome. I’m not looking to spread hate just hoping this might help make this home feel more welcoming.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Alaskan property. The hosts were as advertised.. very receptive and gracious with their time and efforts. In fact, upon arrival, Angela went along with us for a ride to show us a few of the local fishing access spots. The pictures of the property itself are spot on with two significant exceptions. There is no river access directly from this property. Access to the river is on a neighboring property that is posted as private property. Also, the fish cleaning facility in the pictures is not the cleaning facility on this property. The one here is much smaller and elementary. The only thing lacking in the cabin itself is the fact that the kitchen is indeed small (though as pictured), and understocked for a cabin at this price range. We had a large group of 11 people, and often found ourselves either short of plates/bowls, or the materials that we needed to cook and bake with were simply not available. The hot tub and the fire pit were wonderful - and there was plenty of fresh cut wood for our use to make a fire. Overall, a very pleasant stay for our family.
My family of 13 spent 3 days in this beautiful home. Large family room was very nice. Beds were comfortable. The hot tub was a big hit for the younger family members. It was cleaned every day. The kitchen is small and lacks enough silverware and other necessities. The up stairs lacks privacy and only has a 1/2 bath. Not enough towels - we were constantly washing towels. These issues would not keep me from staying again. Owner is a lovely person --- communication were smooth.
Property is as represented, clean, everything you'd need for your stay. Grandma Angela was there upon arrival and assisted us in all our needs. Fishing gear upon request, hot tub maintained daily, or anything she could do she responded quickly . We were located a short distance from public fishing( there is none on the property), shopping, food places. I would highly recommend this VRBO.
We truly enjoyed the cabin and the host was very informative and helpful to us. The cabin is located in a perfect location for shopping, etc. would definitely visit again.
We loved this house !
We came up for our daughters birthday and enjoyed the relaxation.
This house is located close enough to town, but far enough away.
We would love to stay here again

Great place poor management
The onsite manager has boundary issues. I don't need to be babysat on vacation. When there is a problem, send a pro. One of the kids left their cell phone, so we called and were told they had it. We asked them to mail it back and they refused to do it and quit taking our calls. I have friends who were in the area and they dropped bye and picked up the phone. Had they not been there I doubt we ever would have got it back. Very frustrating.
The property has a great deal of area for guest to spread out. I was a little disappointed that the property is not right on the river like one of the pictures shows. It’s not a big deal to walk to the river but it was false advertising. We had a great stay, appreciated that the person who is managing the property meet us at the place. We could have a fire which is always a great things!😀 And the Kenai peninsula is always so beautiful, I love it there.
I do think that they need to add some things to the kitchen, there are limited supplies there, or they should tell guest that they need to bring items if they plan on cooking meals at the place. There are the basic things there but if you plan on spending time in the cabin and cooking for your peeps it’s nice to have a few more supplies. A large bowl to make a salad, a cutting board, more than one wine glass, dish rags in the kitchen. These are some of the things that I noticed. So it all depends on what your there for? Don’t get hung up on the little things, but if you are making your own food ask questions about the accommodations.
