About the house:
The house has been renovated and partly refurbished. In 2018, the exterior facade was redesigned. Furthermore, there is now a private jetty for up to 3 boats available.
The house is located directly on the fjord. With its approx. 110 m² living space, it is ideal for 4 people. However, there are sleeping and living options for up to 6 people.
The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 large bathroom, 1 spacious kitchen, a large living room with open fireplace, a dining set and a comfortable armchair corner, and a sofa set with a fantastic fjord view.
On the property is also a small house with 2 comfortable beds, which is not only used by children. In exceptional cases, 2 comfortable sun loungers could be used as additional sleeping arrangements in case they wanted to come with 8 people.
The kitchen is equipped with a large freezer, electric stove with oven, and microwave. A washing machine for your holiday laundry is available in the laundry room.
The house has a large terrace and garden, also a Fischausnahmeplatz. The jetty and garden are secured to the fjord with a fence, so that the property is also ideal for children. By boat (weather is only available from April to October), the rich fishing grounds in the area are easily accessible.
A portable stereo system, a large LCD TV, a VCR, a DVD player and our small video library, as well as a Nintendo game console and other amenities round off your holiday pleasures.
The television receives because of the mountain range, which makes a satellite reception impossible behind the house, although only 3 Norwegian TV programs, but also various radio stations. On request, however, there is the possibility of using your PC to retrieve your e-mails or to use the Internet. We are happy to offer you this service for free.
Outside the summer months, underfloor heating ensures cozy warmth. Electricity is included in the price during the summer months. For booking periods from mid-October to mid-April, there are additional costs of NOK 240 per week. These are to be paid locally to the caretaker.
Parking for your car is available directly at the house.

The environment:
Even for Norway, this holiday home is uniquely located. In the midst of beautiful nature, the house is located directly on the Esefjord close to the mouth of the Sognefjord and only 1 km away from the historically known city of Balestrand.
The Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord in Europe, about 204 km long and up to 1308 m deep. The area with huge glaciers and the highest mountains in Scandinavia is considered one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world.
Around Balestrand there are various hiking trails, with different levels of difficulty and viewpoints, to admire the fjord from the height.
Worth seeing are in the area "Sogn of Fjordane" the Jostedalsbreen (largest European continental glacier), the oldest stave church of Norway at Urnes in Luster (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Further highlights include the world famous Nærøyfjord, a tributary of the Sognefjord (60 km away), a Flambahn ride (bookable Balestrand tours). On the 20 km long section of the Flambahn, you will see rivers rushing through deep ravines, thundering waterfalls that plunge down steep rocks and snow-capped mountains and mountain ranges on the slopes. The Jotunheimen National Park or the Sognefjord mountain landscape are also ideal for mountaineering or skiing.
In winter, there are also attractive offers, such. B. an illuminated cross-country ski trail (in place). Alpine skiing is possible in Hemsedal (about 2.5 hours by car). Especially idyllic is the area around the Gaularfjellet.
