Once featured in the pages of Sunset Magazine, this luxury lodge on the shores of Serene Lakes is Soda Springs living at its finest. This quintessential lakefront A-frame, 3,000 + sq ft cabin has all you need to enjoy the mountains in any season! Wood fireplace, hardwood floors and carpet, granite countertops, and stainless appliances are but a few of the lovely touches you'll appreciate. Rustic yet updated, and perfectly located on the west slope of the pass to avoid today's Tahoe traffic.
This cabin is a place for recreation and relaxation with swimming and boating from the shoreline and a dock on-site. A canoe, kayaks, and paddleboard are provided. The HOA beach and sand volleyball courts are just a short walk or paddle from the cabin and are for owners and guests. National Forest and Land Trust trails for hikes and mountain bikes are practically outside your door! The 2,400-acre community of Serene Lakes sits in the heart of Donner Summit in North Lake Tahoe, with its two spring-fed lakes named Serena and Dulzura by none other than Mark Twain. The surrounding forested region has many lakes, streams, meadows, trails, paths, campgrounds, all-season resorts, and recreational activities. Serene Lakes is commonly known as the “Sierra’s best-kept secret,” because of its natural resources and unique extremely quiet location.
Fresh from an extensive remodel, this home seamlessly blends the classic style of an A-frame chalet with distinctively modern comforts and details across more than 3,000 square feet. The great room is a sight to behold, featuring hardwood floors, exposed crossbeams, a wood-burning fireplace with an impressive stone hearth, and a two-story wall of glass that frames the lake. Enjoying the same view is the chef's kitchen with its professional-grade stainless steel appliances (including a gas stove), stone countertops, farm sink, and wrap-around breakfast bar. There are Keurig, drip, and French press coffee makers to help you ease into each morning, as well as plenty of room to share pancakes at the adjacent table before heading outside to hike, snowshoe, or launch a kayak from the dock.
At day's end, you can rack up a game of nine-ball at the outdoor pool table, count the stars in the lakefront hot tub, or play foosball and watch TV upstairs in the loft. Or, simply retire to one of four bedrooms - each of which is cozily adorned with elements of natural wood.
