Light and Bright Cabin with open floor plan and loft minutes from Pates Ford Marina

Beautifully renovated 2 Bed, 2 bathroom home with bathrooms attached to each bedroom on 6 gorgeous acres.

This house truly has the wow factor. Wonderful energy, quiet, country living!

Roku TV,  gigabit (very fast) internet to make our place great for the working professional.

Four people can be comfortably accommodated, and if extra sleeping arrangements are needed, we have a comfy couch!

GORGEOUS FRONT PORCH with a cable railing system.

Own a boat? Plenty of space to park it here!

We live about an hour away, checking in will be done via a code. We always strive to be available for messages/calls when our guests need us. We also have someone on-staff monitoring messages throughout regular business hours.

Very close to the lake and Pates Ford Marina (less than a 10-minute drive), concerts in the summer!, Close to many great nature spots, Downtown Smithville area, and beautiful scenery everywhere you look.

Smithville is a city in DeKalb County, Tennessee, United States.

There are about 5,000 people that live in Smithville. It's a very cute small town with a surprising amount of food options.

Smithville is home to the Smithville Fiddler's Jamboree, which it has hosted annually since 1972. With 35 music and dance categories, streets full of hand-made crafts, and food booths galore, this is great fun for all.

The town is most visited by lake-goers as it is home to the beautiful Center Hill Lake.

We find it to be one of the most beautiful places in the state, chock full of stunning natural vistas and hiking along the water.

With over 400 miles of shoreline, and over 18,000 acres of area, the lake has plenty of hidden branches and coves to feel like you have the lake to yourself!

One of the things that makes Center Hill Lake special is its undeveloped shoreline. That means your experience on the lake will be filled with views of hilly, verdant shores that make for a beautiful and relaxing getaway. Center Hill Lake is also known for its fishing, which is available year-round.

Fishermen from near and far are especially drawn to the lake's three different species of bass. Don't forget to bring your fishing rod (and Tennessee fishing license) on your trip!  The lake is home to three State Parks: Edgar Evins, Burgess Falls, and Rock Island State Parks. Between the three, there are over 15 miles of trails with plenty of waterfalls for you to explore. Be sure to check them out during your trip!  Center Hill Lake is known for being boat friendly, but if you don’t have a boat of your own, don't worry. Many of the marinas on the lake offer boat rentals for anyone that wants to enjoy the lake from the water.

Our place is 5 miles from one of the best marinas at Center Hill Lake; Pates Ford Marina. Pates Ford Marina is owned by the owner of the famous bar tootsies in Nashville, so he often has country talent come play at the marina.

You have access to the entire house except for a closet downstairs under the steps for the cleaning ladies.

About 4 miles from the nearest restaurants and stores

Great Getaway
The house was perfect for us and in a great location, on a quiet country road, but still within a short distance to state parks and stores. The house was clean and spacious, with a nice yard. The owners were very nice, easy to get in touch with and had quick responses. We had a great time exploring the state parks and visiting family, with a nice place to stay!

Flies everywhere
There were flies everywhere, dead on the floor, and we killed probably 20 more. Floors were not clean and there was a stain in the upstairs bedding pillow. We would not stay here again.

Great place to stay for boating
Close to Pate’s Ford, plenty of space for vehicles and trailers/boats as well as for the dogs to play fetch. Worked perfect for two couples!

Coffee really should be provided because Light and Bright is so isolated running out to purchase some is out of the question. There are so many coffee makers-who would know what to purchase in advance. The hot dripping water in the bathtub was disturbing. The nighttime temperature dropped and the thermostat stayed on 66 degrees, no matter what was selected. We wore our outdoor jackets to be comfortable inside. Some tourist information about sights and restaurants would have been helpful. Light and Bright was chilly and unwelcoming for us.

Great location & clean house!
Wonderful cabin, accurate to its posting. Had everything we needed and was a great location for what we needed. The only thing that i wish was better would have been communication with the host! I got emails about checkin/checkout and but didn’t get a response to one question- not the end of the world at all, and I wouldn’t let that deter you from staying here. That’s just the only thing that could have been better :)

Exactly What We Wanted
We love a secluded get away and this is exactly the type of place we will visit again. We wanted to spend New Year's Eve in the countryside in TN and this was perfect for it. The house is cute, cozy, and had everything we needed for food prep and cooking.

Property was very clean and well stocked with necessities. Easy check in and out. The kitchen drawers/doors were a bit difficult to open due to no knobs which I believe they just hadn’t installed yet. But overall a great place to stay😊

Mom Visit
My brother and I rented this home for a week while visiting our mother. It was perfect as we both had our own bathrooms that were each connected to the bedrooms. The home is in a beautiful country setting just 15 minutes in Smithville which was where our mother was at. The home was perfect for our needs. we both were working remotely as well so it would have been perfect to of had a desk. This was the only thing missing. If ever in the area we would defiantly stay here again.
