This lovely ocean view home will welcome you and your family to the magnificent rock studded Northern Calif. coast & the Southern Oregon Coast known as the 'Banana Belt' for it's mild temperatures. This area has all that nature can offer. Whether you enjoy golfing, fishing the pristine Smith River, hiking the scenic trails of the Redwood Nat'l Park, finding treasures while walking or jogging the beach or just watching the magnificent sunsets over the ocean consider making this your next vacation destination.

Open the carved redwood door and you find yourself in a beautiful, well appointed home with stunning views of the ocean on one side and panoramic views of the mountains on the other. Conveniently located between Crescent City, Ca. and Brookings, Or. on Hwy. 101 this home offers 4 bedrooms, 2 baths plus a family/dining room with a fireplace and a Smart TV with DVD/VHS player, a well equipped kitchen & laundry room. The special feature of this house is the huge UPSTAIRS GREAT ROOM which overlooks the ocean. It is equipped with Starlink WiFi, a 55 inch screen Smart TV with and Blu Ray player, a game table with games & puzzles and a lending library. The perfect setting to socialize or just curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book and enjoy the ambiance of the owners art collection.

You can charter a fishing boat, play a round of golf at the Salmon Run or Del Norte Golf Course or just wander through the antique shops at your leisure, then amble on the boardwalk in Harbor, Oregon and enjoy the birds and boats. Come evening, venture out to one of the fine seafood restaurants the area has to offer or enjoy a bonfire on the beach & roast smores. Want a little more action? Try the Lucky 7 Casino just a mile down the road. After all, you are in the heart of America's Wild River Coast, so come enjoy yourself.

I would definitely recommend this vacation home if you want to have a quiet place to reconnect with yourself and connect with nature. Host has all the necessary amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Fairly easy beach access was a huge plus for us.

We wanted a quiet place for the family to spread out, all while experiencing the Redwoods and seeing the Pacific Ocean. This place was exactly that!

Perfect getaway
We found it to be a perfect location. It had a wonderful view of the ocean. There was quick access to the beach, great seafood and shopping just a quick drive north to Brookings and just a short drive south to the Redwoods, Crescent city and the aquarium.

Wonderful Quaint Getaway
This was a wonderful house for our large family to stay in while we visited the Brookings area. 4 bedroom, 2 bath with a bonus upstairs family room allowed each person space. The home is still proudly displaying the original decor, but is clean and quaint. Lots of amenities for the guests - high chair, easy access laundry, full pantry of cooking utensils and dishes for 12 or more, large fridge. We will stay again if given the chance!

Good Family Stay
As advertised, it was a little farther away from things than we thought but was a nice place to stay with our family. The kids liked the stairs and all the places to explore. One bedroom was vastly more comfortable than the others!

The place was lovely. We enjoyed all the original art and how comfortable it was. Jean was a great host and told us of some special spots to see. It made our last day there great.

Multigenerational family reunion
It was a lovely, unique place with lots of space for all near the beach and redwoods. The grandkids loved the big room upstairs, the kids and spouses had their own room, and even grandma got to sleep in peace in her own room:)

I felt like I was back at grandma's home. We had a great time at the beach which is just a short walk across the street. It is definitely a family style home. Great view of the ocean from the upstairs living room.

Great deal for Ocean views!
A wonderful space for a large group! Most cooking/baking items were available. You do have to cross the 101 when walking to the beach, but it was a short walk overall. Plenty of linens for everyone! Showers were hot and had plenty of hot water. I would stay again.

Very cozy for a rainy Thanksgiving
Warm and cozy, this place was great for our Thanksgiving, close enough to all the sites and the ocean. We loved that we could just walk across the street. Very clean and stocked we didn't need to go to the store for those items that we forgot. The beds were made and very comfortable. Good job Jean

Great place for a quiet family getaway
This was a great home for four nights for our group of eight (four couples). The house is described accurately in the listing, and the location was convenient to both Brookings in the north and California's redwoods to the south. The great room upstairs/ with the beach views was a great place to sit and chat or play games, and the beach was literally a few hundred yards walk. The host, Jean, was friendly and helpful, and provided information about the fires before we arrived. The home is rustic, as noted by other reviewers, but that fit perfectly with the setting. It met our needs very well, and was a good value.

Perfect for large group
House was as pictured and had plenty of supplies for a large group. Very spacious and comfortable. Will definitely stay again. Only thing noticed was no coffee grinder but two coffee pots and pods and ready ground coffee available still made everyone able to obtain the caffeine needed.(I’m Jean will have a new one , probably already does ;) Views are amazing almost makes you want to do dishes so you can stare out at it.

Smith River House
The house was not very clean and many places smelled of mold. We killed at least two dozen flies that kept coming into the kitchen and dining room. The layout and spaces were nice, just poorly kept up. Disappointing, given the price we paid for the property.

We were absolutely thrilled with the location of this property. Every morning began with coffee and a view of the ocean from the upstairs great room. Such a lovely way to start the day! The pups especially loved running, playing and exploring along the beach. Truly a dog-friendly beach! After our daily adventures, we'd rush upstairs to enjoy the most spectacular sunsets, and a cozy fire in the wood-burning fireplace. With a great selection of board games, every night was game night, too. Jean absolutely made us feel most welcomed and very comfortable during our stay on her property, and we would absolutely love to return for another visit.

Comfortable, relaxing stay
The home is not modern or fancy but it is certainly comfortable. We love the upstairs that has a great view of the ocean. The beds are quite comfortable. We had a problem with no Internet service but Jean graciously made up for it by giving us a gift certificate for dinner at the casino and I actually won money! The beach is close. Brookings is a fun little town. It was a little difficult to cook do to a lack of pans with matching lids. We managed though and used the bbq grill for a great steak dinner.

Amazing location in small coastal town
We absolutely loved the location and the quirkiness of the house. It has a going to grandma’s house type of feel. We were a little disappointed in the comfortableness of the beds. They are outdated and sag. We would also recommend better cleaning. There were several cobwebs and the floor/carpet hadn’t been cleaned properly. However, there was everything and more than we needed in the kitchen and it was very roomy. We especially loved the upstairs, as it was a great family room with breathtaking views of the ocean! You honestly can’t beat the price for the location! I would stay again! Thanks for having us!

The property is old but I was looking for size & convince. It’s a very large home, would of been great for a family get together! Unfortunately the fires cut our stay very short! The power company turned off the power to the whole town & all the attractions we were looking forward too. Although the host was informative & willing to make us coffee, We left after just one night but payed for 3. I had to find a hotel north of the home I rented so we could stay warm & eat. Sad this wasn’t the weekend we were looking for!

the place could be amazing BUT it needs a thorough clean and upgrades. It's very dated and smelled very musty - had to open all windows upon arrival - spider webs everywhere, pillows and blankets were worn and thin, comforters had some stains and owner stated she does not wash them every time. Frying pans were greasy, some plastic dishes were sticky and we were not comfortable staying there. The owner was on the property - she was not friendly and asked us to leave when we called her with concerns (her email stated to call her if we had any concerns). We actually ended up leaving and getting another home that was unfortunately not ocean side.
