Double Room (First Floor) overlooking the Garden

The "House of Pomegranates" is a charming guesthouse situated in the heart of Sliema and just 3 minutes on foot from the sea front (Sliema "Ferries"). The guesthouse has a backyard, which is sheltered from the sun and the wind by a large pomegranate and fig tree. It's an ideal spot to relax, dine or to read a book. The House of Pomegranates was lovingly designed to highlight the authentic features of a traditional Maltese townhouse and the comforts of a modern hotel. It is truly a lovely property, flooded with natural light, and situated in an excellent location. It is a perfect balance of quality and price. A communal kitchen is available to guests who wish to dine at the house. Our house is located in the heart of Sliema, which has everything within walking distance. We’re half way from the ‘swimming side’ of Sliema (overlooking St. Julian’s) where you can find a number of beach clubs (Exiles, Surfside, Sliema Pitch, Tigne), restaurants and bars spread over this side of the promenade, and the side known as ‘Sliema ferries’ (overlooking Valletta) from where most cruises (Blue Lagoon, Three cities etc...) and the ferry to Valletta leaves, hence the name. On this side there are lots of bars, cafes, shopping malls and restaurants. Sliema is not very large, so you can walk anywhere in less than 10 minutes and our house is right in the middle :) On street parking is free. There’s also a open air car park which generally has space to leave a car overnight (and free) just 3 mins walk from the guesthouse. During the day, parking may be a little bit tight, due to the central location of our Guesthouse. We strongly suggest that you take a taxi from the airport (prices are fixed) as the bus might take up to one hour to get to Sliema Ferries (closest bus stop). You can use Bus Lines X2 (quite long as it is not direct - up to an hour) or TD2 (about half an hour journey depending on traffic) for example. There is a taxi booth at the airport on your left when you leave the customs area. They operate 24/7, so even if you arrive very late, you will find taxis when you arrive. Taxis from the airport to the Guesthouse are quite cheap and have fixed prices (20 Eur). You could also download the BOLT App when you arrive (there is free wifi at Malta Airport) - it could be significantly cheaper depending on your time of arrival : https://invite.bolt.eu/PY6PW You should be able to get a 5 EUR discount by using this link. Our dear guests, Malta is a lovely little island with lots of sunshine, clean waters and history, but unfortunately it has no natural resources and imports all of its energy. We kindly ask that you avoid wasting energy by turning off the air conditioning when you’re not in the room. If you could please also avoid taking the room towels to the beach (we can try to lend you one of our beach towels upon availability) and wiping make-up with them, it would be truly appreciated. The last little thing - for recycling you’ll find a white bin in the covered garden area for plastic and cardboard as well as a box for all your glass bottles. We wish you a pleasant stay with us !
