Great home base for Red River Gorge adventure
Excellent location in Red River Gorge. Very close to many popular trails, the State Park, and the activities that my family was interested in (Zip Line, Rock Climbing, etc.). The home had everything that our family (13 and 11 year olds) needed, including Smart TVs throughout the house, hot tub, front deck, and three season room. Also, being on top of the hill gave us some excellent views and room to explore the property around house (easy hike to the top). All in all, this was a great place to stay for a family of 4 to visit Red River Gorge.

Weekend Getaway
This cabin was a wonderful place to stay. It was just my other half and me, so we didn't need the extra bedrooms, but the space was nice. It was very clean and had all amenities needed for our weekend. I did pick up a couple things and left them - foil & ziplocks, for storage. I was a little nervous about the steep road and very steep driveway, but our SUV had no problem. I would gladly stay at Robin's Nest again!

Yearly RRG trip
Robins Nest has a convenient location, about as close to Nada Tunnel as you will find. It has a great layout for two families and we very much enjoyed our stay. The driveway is no joke. 4WD is a good idea especially if roads could be slick.

Do not stay here. Property not what is shown.
They will try and make you pay for damages to their property that aren’t yours and existed prior. Assumptive and rude hosts. Stay somewhere else in The Gorge and save yourself the hassle. Property is up a very long and hard to navigate road. There is no yard. There is no view. Neighbors are right next to you. Lack of seclusion.

Great Weekend Away
We found the cabin to be overall great. Everything was clean and everything we needed was there. We had a great weekend, this cabin is right in the center of the activities we wanted to do. The driveway is a 16 degree grade but was not problem and actually added to the adventure. Hot tub was clean, wood for the fire pit, TV with plently of channels, great internet and cell service. We would stay here again.

Urine smell
We are not ones to complain or to leave a negative review. This cabin upon the drive way was beautiful. We were so excited to enter our little getaway cabin. This cabin is listed as no pets aloud, we always rent pet Free homes. Upon entering the screened in porch was black dog hair all over the furniture. When we entered the cabin the smell of urine hit us all in the face! So we opened the doors to let it air out some. We are considered a bigger family with 6 so having a washer and dryer is a must! The kids were all excited to get settled in, only to find out that the bunk beds had no linens. We tried calling the housekeeping number that was left on the living room table in the information binder for her to say she had not been servicing that cabin for 3 years. Tried calling the owner with no answer, finally messaged through VRBO and got a call back for them to tell us that the dryer quit working and that the house keeper would be back later in the day to make the beds, and bring towels (which smelled soured)Then told us there is a leak in the upstairs toilet. upon inspecting it,it was a pretty good leak, as the next morning water had ran into the middle of the upstairs bathroom floor. We were refunded the cleaning fee and$100 because we could not stay the entire length because of the smell. The information binder needs to be updated. Read not to turn down AC past 74 or it would freeze up and we would be charged to fix it. Cabin has good views but the smell of pee overtook it

A stormy night in Robins Nest Cabin
Upon arrival at our cabin, March 2023. We had a terrible storm with high winds. As we entered the cabin it was quite chilly. The thermostat read 64 degrees. When we turned on the smart thermostat it stated that it would be 2+ hours to heat up to 75 degrees. So, as we waited a nice wood stove sit in the corner of the dining area. We thought this would be a good way to heat up the cabin. However, the owners kept it locked up so no one could use it. The cabin was very nice and well equipped with amenities. Other than minimal amount of towels and bed covering. The master bedroom is in the loft area above the living room. Normal sounds from conversation, tv, and very squeaky wooden floor, made it impossible to sleep. Next day, electricity was out due to high winds hitting a transformer. I notified owner at approx. 12:35 pm and advised her of the situation. She said that she would have husband call me. No one every called me back. We decided to pack up and leave. I was concerned about closing up the cabin, with no electric and letting them know that we were unable to complete closing procedure. The cabin would be more accommodating for a couple or small family, due to noise level. The driveway is extremely steep and I recommend 4 wheel drive. . The cabin was clean, well equipped and as advertised. I just wish the owners would have answered their phones. Some guests try to be good renters!!

Great location in for access to hiking trails and several attractions and restaurants within 20 min. Cabin is clean and offers beautiful views. There are cabins close by, but you feel like you have the view to yourself. Fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Plenty of seating and beds for 4 adults comfortably. Nice place to stay!

Wonderful escape
Myself and two friends had a wonderful ladies vacation in the red river gorge and coming back to this lovely cabin at the end of a one day hiking was a real treat. Great location, everything we needed was supplied, having a hot tub to use was a huge bonus. The road to get up to the cabin is paved but one lane and suppper steep, just FYI.

Perfect location
Loved our stay. Coming from flatlands we were a little intimidated by the road up to the cabin and the driveway, but our loaded down minivan did just fine. (Don't use maps to get there, follow the directions Jennifer sends you.) The location is perfect. In-between National Bridge state park and Nada tunnel to Red River Gorge. Close to all the restaurants in Slade. The cabin was just beautiful. Comfortable beds. Both bathrooms had jetted tubs. And the hot tub was fantastic! It's right out the back door. The cabin also has a full sized washer and dryer which we hadn't plan on using, but was great not to have to bring home wet suits and sweaty hiking clothes. We did check out the trail behind the cabin. It had cute trail markers along the way. Also loved that it had both a screened in porch and a deck. Also the wifi is great but I even had cell service without it. Would definitely stay here again!!

Nice cabin and well stocked. Kids enjoyed the hot tub and I bet it’s awesome when the weather is cooler. Enjoyed coffee on the large deck. We really liked each older kid had their own bed. The driveway is straight up, but no problems for my SUV. Definitely want to return in the Fall and hike more.
