Stop in at the Skogasafn museum near the Skogafoss. You can see the reconstructed turf houses and other buildings behind the main museum. The museum itself has lots of artefacts about Icelandic life and its history. But do not skip the small museum just down the road at Eyjafjallajokull, all about the volvanic eruption in 2010

Hiked back 6 miles from the top of the waterfall one day. Every time we went over a hill and saw a wonderful site I never thought it could get any better, but it always did. There were so many beautiful waterfalls, canyons, and views.
