"Stuck in time but it's great"

"It is very good hotel, exellent for the price. Beautiful view from the balcony, walkable distance to Orta San Julio, 40 min drive to Lago Maggiori. The room was clean and big, the restaurant is very good. I only should mention that in our room the Internet connection was very weak."

"This is the kind of gorgeous, historic property that you can only find in Europe. Details were thoughtful, the lawns and property itself were carefully maintained. The rooms themselves are all each well appointed lofts/apartments. The owner was attentive when we told her that we had to leave before breakfast so she brought a coffee tray and toasts to our room at 6am the next morning. I would suggest paying at the hotel on arrival because there was some confusion about pre-paying the rooms, but...

"Great place to mix with the locals. Received excellent info on "off the beaten path" places to go. This is a basic overnight stay and good value. Breakfast was adequate. The adjoining restaurant was excellent and one of the best of our two weeks in Italy."
